"Nice rooms, in good location, bathroom is clean and functional, large bathroom but quite small shower cubicle, could be updated at some point. Owner helpful & friendly and helped with where to park when 'allocated' spaces full. WiFi seemed hit & miss, sometimes couldn't get on perhaps due to volume of traffic/other guests, had to keep turning WiFi on & off to reconnect, however to be fair my phone provider signal wasn't great so maybe connected. Room servicing was supposed to be every 3 days if staying longer, we stayed 5 nights & noone even emptied the rubbish which was a shame. These little things make the difference between good and excellent"
Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa

"Great location and so convenient for local restaurants and shops. Parking offside took a minute or two and was really easy. Our room was very large and perfect for my disabled Mum. Breakfast and food in the bar was excellent. It was lovely to sit and relax with such a stunning view. Chantelle made sure our room was always clean and lovely to return to. All the staff were so sweet and nothing was too much trouble. Overall great value, fabulous location, gorgeous views and walkability."

The Ryebeck Hotel

"We booked the Ryebeck for our 15th Wedding Anniversary, and we were made to feel welcome before we even arrived. Craig and his team made us feel welcome and part of the furniture. They're incredibly attentive and accommodating. The room was clean and very comfortable, with a great shower. The view out over the lake is incredible, and the gardens are lovely for a stroll. Dogs are very welcome and are treated to sausages at breakfast. The Chef might be the best-kept secret ever! We were blown away by how good the food and the menu are. It can change a couple of times a week depending on what the chef can get from local producers. Breakfast was also delightful, and the French toast was unreal! It's a short walk into Bowness with plenty of parking in their car park. We are already looking at dates to book again."

"We were very satisfied with our stay at Bowness Guest House. After a long, rainy day of exploring, this was the perfect cozy spot to warm up and recharge. Our room was well furnished and overlooked the beautiful courtyard. The location was great, as we were able to park in the neighborhood and walk down to the waterside within 10 minutes. The host is also kind and helpful. Definitely recommend!"
