No breakfast /food, staff seemed to take personal phonecall while checking me in. Decor very old/drab - reminded me of the sort of place Victor Meldrew would end up in. Room amenities not amazing.
Free parking was good, and good location.
Free parking and good location but thats about the only positives. The hotel is outdated and in dire need of upgrades. The bathroom in our room made me want to puke. We visited in peak summer, there was no ac and no fan. Staff disappear at 10pm so you are on your own and cannot get assistance. There is a number you can message but they don’t respond until the morning anyway so its pointless. Lounge area tv’s etc turned off at 10pm when staff leave so we were unable to watch the game and had to watch on the tiniest rv in our room. If you like standards and comfort then this hotel will make you want to cry, avoid. Its a shame as it is in a great location and has so much potential if only they cared!
Great hotel which is up and coming and the team were soo welcoming and polite. They were supportive of my needs and it was such a effortless stay and very relaxing. I will stay there again.
Unfortunately on 2nd floor shower was cold to barely lukewarm for the entire weekend in March. Heating too was off when we arrived but later fixed. No breakfast available and noise throughout the night with banging doors talking laughing etc. Odour exists in rooms and corridors. Hotel is a throwback to the 60's and badly in need of a total renovation. However the price is quite cheap so you get what you pay for.

Hotel was very basic. Staff very polite and helpful on reception. Not made aware that hairdryer was on request from the reception desk.
We had booked with a group to stay on a Saturday night after a Golden Wedding Anniversary party. The downstairs of the hotel was very nice but the rooms were very small and dated. Cleanliness was good and the food was lovely but £96 for that room was far too much!! We booked to stay on the Sunday night as well and only paid £53 for the same room!
The Mayfair offers rooms from single bed up, at great rates which include parking, no 'frills' - pool spa etc.
My single room was clean and adequate, walking distance from seafront and local amenities.
I had a misfortune which caused me to call short my stay overnight, reception was closed.
The following day Expedia and the Hotel dealt with the issue quickly and made a refund, which they were not obliged to under the conditions.
This is a clearly once good hotel in a central location in Bournemouth spoilt by a tital lack of any serious investment for around 40 years (when better off customers started holidaying abroad) meaning the bathrooms still date from the late 1970s and the lack of attention to detail is so widespread that my bedroom had no bedside light but only an overhead light while the 1970s cold tap on the bathroom sink would only turn on in the wrong direction.
Room door locking system was also old and worn out.
This could be a decent hotel if it was taken over and fully refurbished by a large national chain instead of the current cheese pairing owners.
