HORRIBLE. In for 1 night on business and chose the Encore based on the promise of upscale comfortable rooms. Checked in at 3pm but only had time to drop luggage in room prior to running out to a meeting. Upon return to my room at 10pm, there was a strong “wet” smell, almost like rotting. I also noticed that the iPad that controls the room, tv and entertainment wasn’t working. The room itself was spacious but in bad condition. Stains on the carpet, chipped weathered furnishings. I went down to the front desk at 10:10pm to ask for a different room. There was one person working - she spent 20 mins trying to upswell a guest to a suite ignoring the long line of tired guests awaiting check in. After a very long wait it was my turn. I explained the problems with the room, said I’d be checking out early the next morning and just needed a comfortable clean working room to sleep. In front of me she called her manager by phone, explained the problems and asked if she could move me to a different room but was told NO (they clearly had rooms and suites available at 10:40pm as she tried to upsell every guest checking in). She said “sorry the manager said we cannot move you to a different room but will send engineers to work on the smell & iPad.” It was nearing 11pm so I said absolutely no one was coming to my room to look into iPad, that I was hugely disappointed but going to sleep. At 11:30pm while in bed the engineers loudly knocked on my door for about a minute. Will never return.
