"Generally the property was nice, however having stayed at similar properties over the years, I think there were a few things which could be improved. These are personal preferences but I think its the smaller touches which make all the difference. For example, it would have been nice if guests were given bath towels rather than the smaller sized towels, with spares available at the property. As the property had a hot tub, robes would have been nice. The tea and coffee selection was very basic. I also felt the beds have seen better days. Generally the property was clean but the kitchen floor felt sticky."
"The Staff were amazing. We had the best omelette made by the chef. I still have a lingering taste of the omelette.
The Manager was very good and helpful and the staff too.
We were unable to go to the spa, timing did not work for us.
Rooms were clean except for one day, when we got a smell of cigarette smoke, and the hotel could not figure out where it was coming from as it affected a few rooms.
Overall a great hotel and super food"
"Great view of the pier from our generously sized double room. Staff pleasant and helpful. Hotel has car parking for around 10 cars, there was always a space available for us here. There was also free on street parking nearby but very few spaces available. Lovely 15 min walk up the cliff road to upper Bangor. Probably about a 20 min walk into the main town centre."
"A great little hide-away in a beautiful village. We used it as a base for climbing Snowdon so the swimming pool was very welcomed on a hot day after climbing a mountain."
"For a taste of the past this grand hotel has all the features. Sitting room with big comfy couches, opposite the pier and a few mins walk from the castle. The room was good (we had least expensive)the bath enormous ( shower above) maybe one too many chairs but slept well and breakfast excellent. The restaurant was also very good in the evening and the Bull’s head the other night can be recommended."
"First of all, the landlady was really lovely, and she cooked a great breakfast (not included, but not expensive)
The rooms are above a fun pub, with a friendly atmosphere.
My room was Very spacious. The water was hot, shower good & there was Liquid hand soap & body wash provided. A Kettle is provided with tea & coffee.
The Hote/pub is Right next to Bangor station, with regular buses that run into town, or a 20 minute walk. There was a car park next door too.
But the room was pretty tatty, and in desperate need of a lick of paint & some tlc.
The bed wasn’t very comfortable, with a thin but sweaty synthetic duvet, & thin pillows.
There is no fan or aircon, but the windows open onto the outside seating area and a very busy road so very noisy if opened.. they are double glazed though, so they do shut out a lot of noise when closed
The pub plays music inside & outside - fairly loudly (there is actually a speaker outside), although it is turned off later in the evening.
Last gripe.. the cups provided were tiny, and there wasn’t enough milk."
"Not worth the money at all! Room and hallways were dirty, there was no toilet paper in our room, and lots of things were broken. Just felt really, really old and poorly maintained. Tiny room.
Part of why we chose this was due to the breakfast photos on google, that look amazing. So disappointed! It was a buffet, but a really sad one. Poor choices, and didn't look nice. We skipped out as quickly as we could"
