Hotel in guter Lage mit schöner Terrasse in guter Lage. Parkmöglichkeiten bei vollem Hotel schwierig, muss man Platz in Tiefgarage(kostenpflichtig) nehmen. Die Standardzimmer ähneln eher einem Economyzimmer, da die meisten sich in weniger guter Lage befinden (neben Rezeption, oder Aufzug/Treppenaufgang= sehr laut in der Nacht, wenn andere Gäste nach Hause kommen), im EG hat man "Blick" auf Parkplatz (auch lauter nachts), Zimmer sehr dunkel, ohne Balkon, kein Deckenlicht vorhanden. Wir reisen wirklich sehr, sehr viel, aber das war mit Abstand das schlechteste Zimmer für fast € 150.- die Nacht. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker mit großer Auswahl!

Wonderful!
We had a wonderful stay! The location and the view were spectacular. The breakfast was very good and there were adequate COVID precautions. We will definitely be back!

Overrated and overpriced
We booked a standard double room, which looked nice in the pic here. We got a dark bedroom under the roof with a tiny skylight plus a meeting room that had be turned into a lounge. It was big but soulless and depressing. We asked to change to a standard double but this was refused unless we paid 25% extra. Very rude receptionist who showed no customer service at all. Plus the bed had rubberised undersheets so it was like sleeping on a plastic bag. Don't waste your money. Stay elsewhere.

The room was comfy and clean. The hotel has a nice restaurant and sitting to enjoy a drink in the evening. Breakfast was fantastic.

Great hotel

Great location and view . Amazingly friendly and great food / restaurant . Room was basic and no ac. We were in ground floor with view of car park outside window. Room so hot but couldn’t open window fully as ground level . Security light kept clicking on . Got no sleep . Commented when left and told Expedia gets the cheap rooms . Spoilt whole trip :(

Sehr gute Lage
Renovierungsbedürftiges Hotel in super Lage. Freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Restaurant " Fassl". Das Hotel bietet kaum Komfort, 4 Sterne Bewertung entspricht nicht dem gebotenen.

Due to easyJet delay of four hours from London we missed are train from Munich HBF to Berchtesgaden which meant we could not stay and lost out on hotel and train tickets staff were very helpful that night trying to work something out but it was not to be. but I stayed there previously and it it was excellent staff very helpful and accommodating and polite would definitely stay again

Gemütliches Berghotel mit spitzen Essen
Pro: - Die Zimmer waren gemütlich eingerichtet. Es ist nicht super modern, aber für die Gegend ein sehr passendes Ambiente. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. - Das Personal und besonders die nette Dame von der Rezeption waren sehr höflich und freundlich. Da so ein warmer Umgang selten geworden ist, erwähnenswert. - Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Die Auswahl war mehr als ausreichend. - Zum Hotel gehört auch ein kleiner Gasthof der unglaublich gutes Essen zubereitet. Die Rechnung kann Vorort bezahlt oder auf die Zimmernummer geschrieben werden. - Die Lage ist wunderschön mit tollem Ausblick über Berchtesgaden Con: - Das Licht in dem Hotelzimmer war nur durch Stehlampen und kleinen Nachtischlampen gegeben. Es gab zwar Lichtschalter für ein Oberdeckenlicht, aber keine Lampe dafür. Das war teilweise etwas umständlich Abends in das dunkle Hotelzimmer zu gehen um am Ende des Zimmers eine Lampe anzumachen.

Durchschnittliches Hotel
Wir reisten zu zweit an zum Entspannen für ein Wochenende und bekamen ein kleines Zimmer zum Parkplatz raus gelegen zugewiesen.Der Carport war beleuchtet und bei jeder Bewegung draußen leuchteten zwei grelle Neonröhren in unser Zimmer. Wir durften dann( mit Aufpreis) zwei Stockwerke höher ziehen,was wir dankend annahmen. Leider war nach hinten raus eine Baustelle,aber die Rezeptionistin versicherte uns, dass kein Baustellenlärm uns wecken würde! Am Samstag um kurz nach 7 Uhr früh wurden wir jedoch eines Besseren belehrt: wir wurden vom Baustellenlärm geweckt! Nach einem ziemlich leckerem und reichen Frühstück beschwerten wir uns und bekamen dann ein tolles Zimmer zur anderen Seite des Hauses zugewiesen (ohne Aufpreis!!!!), das wir gerne bezogen! Diese Nacht verlief ruhig und am Morgen konnten wir auch ausschlafen! Der Wellnessbereich des Hotels war eher klein, die Sauna ok,allerdings zu wenig für ein 4 Sterne Hotel!! Personal war nett,Zimmer gewöhnlich, nichts besonderes!

Pleasant but quirky
Nice hotel, great restaurant with included breakfasts as part of stay. There was construction going on around the hotel which made parking in and outs a bit challenging WiFi was terrible and kept dropping no matter which hotel site you connected to Whilst irritating, I suppose the reason for being in Berchtesgaden is to take it all in. All in all I would recommend

Schön aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen!
Von den Zimmern nach vorne hat man einen traumhaften Blick! Das Haus pflegt eine sehr schmackhafte Küche im Faßl! Der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend!

A few ups and downs
While a good choice overall, we did have a few issues. The room we were first given (#57) faced a parking lot with a light sensor, so every time there was movement, the lights flooded our room, making sleep difficult. This could be easily resolved with the installation of blackout curtains or some type of shutter. The noise level in this room was also a problem, with early morning trash collection and snowplowing. The entire ground floor was overly warm, necessitating us to sleep with the windows open (in December!) We noticed the front door wide open on a few occasions, evidently to cool the area near reception. We asked to be moved, and were given room #61, which we declined, as it had the same light and noise issues - rooms 56-61 all face the parking lot. We moved to room #117 on the first floor - we were charged an additional 10 Euro per night - a fair price for a good night's sleep, but interestingly enough, the higher priced room was actually smaller than those on the ground floor, as the space dedicated to the balcony (useless to us in December) was taken from the space of the room. This hotel is located a steep walk up from town and a VERY steep walk up from the train station. We walk just about everywhere when we visit Europe, but we needed a taxi to get us and our luggage to/from the hotel from the train station. Overall, we liked the hotel, and we had two very good meals in the restaurant. Service was excellent.

As in previous notes about the hotel, the wi-fi was spotty. Most of the staff spoke enough English to communicate, but isn't that the charm of travelling?

Very nice hotel, great location, good service
The hotel was very nice. The location was perfect with a beautiful view from the restaurant and excellent food. The service was very good and the rooms were comfortable and well appointed. I would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful hotel in Berchtesgaden
My husband and I stayed here two nights in August. The hotel is a bit of a steep walk from town, but totally worth it. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was included and was a wonderful traditional European breakfast (cold cuts, boiled eggs, granola, and yogurt). The view from the breakfast lookout is fabulous. Overall great hotel!
