Wonderful Elegant Shades

We stayed here for two weeks in November and had a wonderful time. The apartments are spacious and air conditioned, though not really equipped for self catering beyond the basics but I don't know why you would want to self cater. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is available, prepared by Marina and her husband, who were always very helpful, arranging taxis and touk-touks for us on request. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is fine for cooling off. The location is perfect - relatively peaceful, less than 10 minutes to the beach, and slightly less to the village, where there are plenty of eating places, shops and money change. We would happily return to Elegant Shades.

Peace and sunshine.

I was here for a week and found it totally relaxing. The setting is wonderful and the service excellent. They had a reasonable food menu and food was delivered to the rooms which was nice. Breakfast was really nice and sitting in the gardens made it even more enjoyable. Staff were great, friendly and welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Beach is a 20 minute walk but Tuk Tuks are available locally and fun to ride. This is not an action place but somewhere to unwind. They also arranged for a taxi to the airport. I just had one tiny gripe and that was on my first night they provided me with a tiny jug of milk and when I got my final bill for the food (not breakfast that was included) there was a small charge for it.
