We were very pleased with our stay here. It was convenient to all of the things that we were going to see while we were there and the staff was great. Room super and we could play cards in the very large lounge.

When we checked in room was open and still dirty and bed not made up. and while checking in the front desk informed us they are open 24/7 for railroad workers! Not much in the way of service for your basic traveler. My wife got the air-conditioner to kick back on finally after working with the thermostat. The leak in the bath tub was more of a steady trickle so it wasn't very loud.

Do not stay here
Approaching the property my wife was concerned given the number of rough/unkept looking characters sitting outside the establishment. Checking in was fine but the room was atrocious. The carpet was soiled, the room refrigerator smelled of rotten something, the sitting chair in the room was worn through showing the stuffing and the bed was lumpy. We tried checking out but of coarse no refunds when using prepaid reservations. We did not set foot in that establishment again. I took the financial loss and found another hotel.

The best service and friendliest people
We usually stay in los Lunas and this time wnated to be closer to family in belen. Yhis place is hands down the best. The room was clean, fresh, quiet, the front desk and housekeepers were very helpful and attentive. They also have the diner that is 24hrs next door that has excellent food! This place is 50/10 no doubt.

It was only a one night stay and overall it was good. I did have one problem: Despite paying for the room in advance through Expedia, someone at the desk submitted a charge to my credit card. I contacted the general manager and she apologized and refunded my money. Our room was clean and the amenities were good. they do not offer a breakfast, but there is a diner just next to the property called Penny's. We had dinner there the day we arrived and breakfast the next morning. The menu is simple, but the food was very good and the prices are reasonable. One other negative is that we were on the second floor and the hotel does not have an elevator. We are seniors and packed for a 3 week trip so hauling our luggage up the stairs was a struggle.

This property looked very tired with "interesting" decor in the lobby. It took over 20 minutes to get checked in - the guy was having issues and was on the phone trying to get something to work (with help from someone on the phone), plus he kept taking care of others walking in after us. When the people in the room above us walked, there was a loud creaking noise. During the night the housekeeping ladies woke us up 3 times - first at 1:30 with their loud talking in hallway near our room. I peeked my head out and asked them to be quiet - worked for a little while but they continued to wake me up. The room looked good and was very clean. Bigger sized fridge, and the beds were the best part - very comfortable. The pet fee seemed high at $20 (usually $10). When I asked if they serve breakfast, they said no but the diner next door was open 24/7. If we would have been on the 2nd floor, and no housekeeping staff noise issues during the night, we would have likely had a good night sleep.

The rooms are basic at best. We stayed two nights, and the TV was not working the entire time. Went to tell the front desk the first night and they said the cable was out in the whole property, okay understandable. Went to tell the front desk the second night and all they said was "okay I'll have maintenance look at it tomorrow." (After we checkout) Despite what temperature you set the thermostat on, it seems to be permanently set on "freezing", it was cold all night. Coffee is provided in the lobby, but no cups, so bring your own. Pretty non-existent customer service. So, if you are working for the railroad you will probably feel this hotel is adequate, otherwise consider other options. I come to Belen often to visit family but I would sooner get a hotel in Albuquerque than stay here again

Loved our stay !
Travelodge was able to accommodate parking on site for two trucks hauling very long trailers. They were also able to provide a room on the lower level which is convenient for our senior dog. The front desk personnel was very kind and helpful. They offer 24 hour customer service in addition to housekeeping around the clock if extra towels etc are needed. Lastly, there is a diner in the same lost open 24 hours with excellent food!!

I wish we were able to extend the BNSF crew lounge to all guests, but that area is stocked and maintained by BNSF for their crews who lodge at our facility. No shower curtain for stand up shower. The room was clean. The blackout drapes were the best I've seen. Breakfast service at Penny's restaurant was really slow. They were preparing takeout meals for workers.

We were in the brand new part of the building. The power flicked off and on the first night because of a storm and was spotty the next day. That day the power went out totally early morning and we couldn’t see our hand in front of our face. Slept there even though it was like being in an oven. We came and went to see the people we were visiting. Couldn’t dry my hair felt terrible at the bday party. Finally they gave us another room. We still had 2 more days there. Small town not many places to stay. It was awful. Staff was as sweet as could be but they couldn’t fix it. Should have given us another room right away.

Mis-represented in the Hotels.com information
While our stay was ok and the front desk personnel were extremely helpful, I would not have booked this hotel if the information online was correct. It turns out, there is no daily housekeeping (so no clean towels, trash pickup, beds made, etc) and since we were on vacation this felt like a huge void to us. The information needed to be updated. The best thing about this place was the breakfast, which was at Penny's Diner next door. However, it would have been great to have the option to use the value of the voucher towards something else on the menu. After staying for multiple days it would be great to try something else. We did also eat at Penny's for two dinners to try other dishes.

My family and I attended the annual "Crane Festival in Bosque del Apache NM. There were no hotel rooms close to where the event took place. Belen is an hour and 15 minutes from where the event is held. We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly and we had our labrador pet with us. Place was clean and convenient. We had a pleasant stay. Staff at hotel was friendly.
