Hotel provides 24hr electricity and AC. Room had two sets of windows in tandem for insulating street noise, pollution, and climate. It's a short walk to everything in Hamra AUB and its med center. You can also walk to the Raouche rock and the corniche (De Gaulle). Restaurant and shops in the same block, Kababji, Dunkin d., .... As safe as it can get given Beirut has no street lights after dark. Avoid walking out alone after sunset.

Ok but needs improvement - wi-fi didn't work
the hotel needs to be renewed. The A/C was smelling badly and insufficient to get the room cold. furniture needs to be renovated. Wi-fi wasn't working at all. Comprehensively it can be considered of a good quality/price ratio if internet would have worked, but in Beirut with the same amount you can find better options. In a Luxury town, this can not be considered a 4 stars.

Deuxième séjour dans l'hôtel, toujours excellent rapport qualité/prix, hôtel très bien situé, très bon buffet de petit-déjeuner. Riad à la réception est toujours de bon conseil pour votre séjour et organise vos visites à la demande . Je recommande.

Excelente ubicación a la vuelta de la zona comercial Hamra donde puedes encontrar todo lo necesario en tu viaje. El desayuno delicioso todos los días, el cuarto en muy buenas condiciones solo un problema en el baño que debería alargar la puerta de la regadera pues se sale el agua.

Good Value
Friendly hotel close to American University of Beirut and Medical Center, offers an excellent breakfast and services. Best value meals close by are Socrates,T marbuta and Kababji with good bars close by.

Rather disappointing stay. Stayed two nights, the in room coffee and tea were not refreshed after the first night. Staff were ok, not overly friendly.

Hotell mitt i Beirut
Bekvämt och bra hotell som ligger i mitt hamra området med nära till shopping, god mat och nattliv. Rekommenderar detta hotell då det är prisvärt, fräscht och ligger centralt.

Did not honor hotels.com reservation
Did not find hotels.com reservation. I had to deal with it with long distance calls. Then when I arrived it was full so they sent me to a different hotel. It was a bad experience and they played games to hide the fact that did hot honor the hotels.com reservation

It has a good location. Rooms are good. Very clean. Breakfast is ok.

Great customer service!
This hotel has great customer service. It felt like we were always asking for something: advice, help, lost key, item left behind, arranging tours, changing rooms, etc. Basically, we were a pain in the $%* and the staff were always professional, helpful and courteous. The neighborhood (Hamra District) is lively and has lots of great restaurants and pubs. Its easy to get from the hotel to other parts of the city on foot or by a quick, cheap taxi ride ("Service"). Free descent breakfast as well. I would stay here again without question!

Very Clean and Affordable Stay
Visited for two weeks for a business trip and could not be more pleased with the stay. Guest service is a pride of the hotel from the doorman to the front desk manager to the housekeeping staff. Breakfast is a wide and generous spread of Lebanese and continental food. Room cleanliness is second to none, including a tightly made bed, spotless bathroom, and quick laundry service. Only downside is no real gym or fitness facilities, but Hamra is a great neighborhood to get out and take a walk in.

Wonderful service in a great neighborhood
The service at Cavalier Hotel--from the reception to the bell boys to the room cleaning--is top notch. You can tell the staff really considers it a point of pride, and it shows. The hotel is nearly spotless. It's got a very good and filling breakfast, with a combination of Lebanese and continental cuisine. And there's really no better area to stay in, no neighborhood with more character, than Hamra, where Cavalier is situated. The price is affordable and comparable with other hotels of similar quality nearby, so I would absolutely recommend a stay at the Cavalier.

Value for money
Overall was a good experience. Good location, close to restaurants and bars and very friendly staff. Except the check in, we reserve a non smoking double bed room and they give us smoking, when trying to change but they say they don't have double non smoking, even though my expedia reservation says so. We have to go for twins since we are non smokers and we couldn't tolerate the smell.

Great value for Beirut hotel.
Great hotel service. Wonderful breakfasts. The view from the room is a busy street view. But the windows are double panned, so no problem

great value in a great neighbourhood
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. My room was comfortable. The hotel is just off Hamra Street, which is full of cafes, restaurants, and shops. It's an easy stroll down Hamra to the corniche, and the downtown area is just a short taxi ride away or a longer amble if you're so inclined. Try dinner at Kebabji, just around the corner from the hotel, and shoppers should make a point to visit the Souqs of Beirut. I would definitely make a return to this hotel.

Sehr gutes Hotel in zentraler Lage von Beirut
Alles einwandfrei und nur zu empfehlen. Sehr nettes Personal, daß auch bei der Organisation von Ausflügen behilflich ist. Umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffett. Tolle Betten und Badezimmer. Die Lage ist hervorragend, so daß man vieles zu Fuß erledigen, besichtigen kann.

Smelly rooms
The hotel needs refurbishing. Smelly rooms - even non-smoking ones. The cigarettes smoke is everywhere. Dirty carpet in the room. Poor Internet. Breakfast is OK. Location - is quite good, close to Hamra but not very noisy as it could be in this area.

it smells cigarettes everywhere
It is OK provided you book it with the discount, otherwise - not worth the money you pay. The area is OK taking into account it is Beirut - you should know where you go. The city is dirty and smelly, so comparing to other places location is good. The internet is very slow, but wifi signal is strong. Breakfast is quite OK. Rooms are also OK and clean, apart the carpet and curtains which are dirty. And it smells smoke everywhere! I had a non-smoking room, but all other guests where smoking everywhere - in neighbouring rooms, in the hall, in elevators - so you just cannot escape it and its really hard to breath at night.
