Review of hotel stay in Bayreuth

Room requires greater cleanliness - for example there was much dust upon the top of the cupboard and which should be wiped down. The hotel is conveniently situated in Bayreuth but the accompanying map to its location should be more explicit. The breakfast is good.

Good location but needs some work

Eugene at the front desk and all the staff I met were really nice here. It was within 2km of the Bayreuth Festspielhaus, quite walkable, so a good location for anyone attending there. Overall the hotel could benefit from some upgrades to the building and the rooms. Also note - the hotel does not have air conditioning. It was not super hot when I stayed, so I was able to keep my room comfortable most of the time.

A very basic guesthouse, not a hotel. There is no front desk and no staff on duty except during breakfast and dinner. Access is via a machine booth. The room was fine but there was only a bath (no shower). The breakfast was below average for German accommodation, but better than most US hotels. There were no foam pillows, only feather. Entire premises could do with a good clean. The corridors and stairwell had cobwebs. Conveniently located to a gym.

Cheap and simple hotel

We had a stop-over on our way through Germany and found this place. Located in a busy street corner the hotel is old and in need of a refurbishment, dirty bathrooms and worn down rooms and beds. Breakfest was OK, although nothing special.

No staff present on arrival, just an automated system. The staff was very unpleasant to deal. The room probably hadn't been clean. There were silver fish on the floor of the bathroom. We had to pay for parking.

A totally crappy hotel, with dirty rooms and a scruffy exterior and interior! We left for another hotel after 15 minutes. The pictures and descriptions are way off, the reality.

It was an old hotel. Every equipment in the room was very old. TV in my room had no signal and didn't work. It was cleaned up in the room. When I checked in, a reception lady said only two times, "your name?" and "room number 17".

Had issues paying for hotel to get room keys since there is not front desk staff, used 3 credit cards and 1 debit and one American Express card and none worked at the kiosk(might just be an American card issue) amenities in the room where not much and the shower was small. 3.5/5 I didn’t like it but didn’t hate it either

The hotel canceled my reservation, by email, sent less than 24 hours before my arrival. Being on a bus I wasn’t even able to find it and react. No personal on the spot, the check-in automated, my reservation no longer exists - nobody to explain why. Had to reach to Expedia who said “probably they’re out of vacancies “. The reason, I later found, was that the credit card on file has expired. I made the reservation 4 months in advance, and the only available option was “you pay at the location”. Why did they decide to try to charge me one day before the arrival then? Terrible experience trying to find a stay 2 hours before the show ($200 ticket), ruined night, and Expedia was not able to help.

Family of five people. When we arrived, the check-in machine didn't work. We told the person in the reception about this and they didn't care. We weren't welcomed att all. No "Hello" or "Welcome". We started speaking in english and the receptionist kept answering i german. No informaion about anything regarding the hotels facilities or what time breakfast is served. The room had no ventilation and it wasn't cleaned. Lots of dust under the beds and in the corners of the room. And when i say dust i mean the size of a mouse. It was hard to breath because of the dust, the warmth and the fact that there was no ventilation. There were a total of 3 electric sockets. One for the tv, one in the bathroom and one extra in the bedroom. The breakfast was not worth the money. When we checked out. There was no bye or thanks for staying with us or please come again. Its like they didn't care about their customers at all. Even if it is a low quality hotel i expect more for that price. I would not recommend this hotel for families or for a good nights sleep.
