"Limited parking in an old fashioned Harveys pub with rooms & a restaurant. Stayed on a Thursday which transpires too be 'steak night' so menu was limited on the evening but what was offered seemed good quality at a reasonable price. Would stay again if in the area. Also, really helpful / friendly staff."

"Spa facilities poorly maintained wood splitting in sauna, no steam room very small pool and small dirty changing facilities. Inadequate gym facilities literally 1 treadmill Old dirty carpet and room smelled old. Tv was inadequate old 1st generation TV. Terrible WiFi signal Reception staff friendly but catering staff not. No food available after 9.30pm no amenities or facilities around to overcome this. Would not recommend staying unless just going to specifically play golf"

"Shower had a draining issue and in room fan was pretty noisy (hence we couldn't use it). Nonetheless, overall it was a decent stay."

"Lovely rural location, a couple of miles from a small village with nice restaurants and shops. Close to Bewl Water."

"The single room above a quiet pub has the best price you will find in the area, and an interesting history. Nice meals are available downstairs, very convenient. The Sunday lunch (I had the roast chicken with all the trimmings) was especially delicious. The friendly owners shared lots of information about the local area. The entire building is very clean and well maintained and the room is cosy with nice touches without being overdone. There is a tea kettle with coffee and tea options. The few...

"Philip and his wife Nikki have a wonderful Hotel and are lovely people! Our room was tidy, comfortable, quiet, and had small touches like complimentary tea and cookies that were so appreciated and enjoyed by us. I had the best sleeps I had on our entire 2-week stay while here, so much so that I missed breakfast unfortunately--(my fiancé made it though and said the food was delicious also). If we are ever in the area again, we will be back. Thank you for the fantastic experience!"

"Great value, great staff and great breakfast. Was slightly disappointed as we had a couple of issues in the room, which we reported, but nobody came to sort it out."

"It’s always a joy to stay at The Queens. It’s comfortable, clean, has the most excellent and generous menu, but it’s their team that are the real gems in their crown."

"Everything was excellent with high standards, as usual - we have stayed many times before. Only small problem was the old fashioned cistern on the toilet - my wife couldn't reach the high, short chain to pull! Room 218."

"A lovely hotel with many original features. The dinner and breakfast were lovely, there was a nice selection of both. The room was great and plenty of plugs to charge devices. I liked the lounge/bar area with a wide selection of books and games available for patrons. It's very well located for trips to Battle itself and Hastings. Would very happily stay here again."

"A really lovely hotel with even lovelier staff. Right next to the beach and perfect for our little get away. Breakfast was also really lovely and the staff were really accommodating"

"Our second stay here, love the bar and always have drinks before checking in and also when we return from our evening out. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. Staff always friendly and helpful."

"The hotel is a lovely old pub & breakfast is good. Our room was hot & thought needs to be given to improving the fans in the room. There are a couple of free, open 24 hours car parks within a 2-4 minutes walk. It's old so floors are uneven and there are a lot of half steps."

"Very comfortable and easy stay, welcoming owners and outstanding breakfast."

"Fantastic hotel with exceptional service. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Our room was immaculate, and the peaceful setting, combined with the beautiful views of the grounds from our ground-floor room, made it the perfect place to relax. A lovely touch was the complimentary wellies available for guests to use while exploring the grounds, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Throughout our stay, the service was attentive yet unobtrusive,...
