Toilet was broken on arrival but was fixed within the hour and offered a drink on the house which is nice. Staff very helpful and friendly. You can see the property is undergoing some work so understandable."

"Amazing location and amazing hotel. We loved our stay however it could do with some refurbishment. It is a dog friendly place so maybe could do with a deep clean in the restaurant area. The food was good but all the dog hair everywhere was a bit unpleasant. However we would still come back."

Threadbare carpet and frayed edges of the mattress hanging down. Dated decor and a less than pristine bathroom with a disgusting non slip mat! Really! Loud music played in the breakfast room. "Wonderfully authentic Lakeland Inn.Our stay was peaceful with so many opportunities for walks straight from the door.Limited options available for dinner, would have appreciated more choices.cooked breakfast was very good but some yoghurt, fruit would have been welcome.Selection of beers at the bar was very good.The staff work extremely hard but we thought an extra member of staff would have helped to reduce waiting times at dinner and breakfast"

"Nice hotel, friendly staff. Dinner was good quality pub-grub and breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and very smart decor. Was a bit hot at night so perhaps air-con would have been nice, although there was a fan thankfully! Be aware that there is no car park at the hotel, although we got parked fine on the unrestricted side streets. Overall, nice hotel, would recommend."

"I enjoyed my stay at the hotel so much I intend to return. The hotel, the gardens and its location on edge of Lake Windermere are wonderful. Fortunately for us the heat wave that affected the country at the end of May meant that we didn’t use the car but instead relaxed in the beautiful gardens, went on short walks or just watched the steamers come and go from the nearby landing. "Bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy well apportioned steps to bed room not good for disabled person or any one with mobility problems main stairs ok. bar and lounge well laid out. Breakfast room an orangery to rear lovely all furniture English oak including stairs in bed rooms in-bar area etc food excellent"

"Stunning location with amazing views and lots of character. We had an outside room (8) which was small but had everything we needed. Really comfy bed and great shower. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff really friendly. Will definitely return 😁"
