"Amazing Stay at Kimpton Roatan"

"I stayed in a beach front room that made access to the sand and sea very easy. The staff kept small totes of fresh water near you door so you could rinse the sand off before entering and tracking it into you villa. The pools were clean and beautiful giving you a nice place to cool off with plenty of covered places to rest in the shade. The location of the Dive shop and the restaurants made them easy to find and get around. The beach was raked and cleaned each morning. The downside for me was it is listed as a non smoking resort and even posted with signs but this was not enforced at all. The smell of cigarettes, cigars and even weed often would permeate areas including my room. Overall the experience was good and I would recommend this to others. "

"The beach view is beautiful! The rooms are dated. The outside is made of wood and are dirty. The faucets in the room have lime scale and not properly clean. The room has a smell. The towels were not clean. Received a towel with a red stain on it. The sliding doors did not all lock. Balconies were dirty and old. Can't get to your room without bringing sand with you. The property needs a renovation and more lighting. Electricity went out and the backup generator was very loud in the middle of the night. The gym was dated and did not have disinfectant to wipe after use, nor towels. They only had paper towels and a sink/ bathroom. Breakfast was just okay. Bar staff was friendly and attentive!"

"Great location rustic older accommodations(great island feel) scary kitchen areas lol 😂 views forever On cruise days you’ll need to leave the whole resort as owner rents out entire beach and areas to cruisers and you have no room to move or enjoy the place you spent thousands on while cruisers spend $25. The restaurant is super expensive but next door is perfect and exceptionally good food for normal pricing. They have no problem if you use their pool while eating or drinking or their dock to snorkel off of. Cruisers stay at fosters and clog it up just walk next door. Greg-o is a staff member who went so far above and beyond it felt like a private guide plus our activities with him were a fraction of the tourist pricing just be sure to tell him you don’t want expensive food stops. Mr Foster showed us the perfect place across the street called keyhole dreams where you can watch sunrise from ancient coral Rocky area where the ocean comes into a “keyhole” area and splashes against the rocks. Pristine beauty and there’s a playground plus bar and restaurant for lunch and dinner but no one knows it’s all there. Pool top up high for the view. Over all a great place for an island stay just sucks they let all the cruisers in 3-4 days per week. But if you can find something else to do during those days it’s wonderful. Staff is fantastic and the cleaning lady will even do your laundry for a tip so you can have less clothes to bring."
