I only stayed for 1 night but I loved the place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to come back for a longer time to enjoy the walks.

Countryside setting 15 minutes from Andover
A lovely hotel with great service and very clean. The hotel is set in a lovely location in private grounds and a 15 minute drive from Andover. The only bad point I would say is that the bathrooms are in need of updating, but I would certainly stay again

A very charming hotel with a beautiful and cosy interior. Very clean except for the dust in the corners. Occasionally one needs to remove the bedside tables to clean there.

Very good stay
We were very pleased with our rooms, the service and our entire experience and stay overnight. The TV and wifi was very good and easy to use. We appreciated the 11:00 check out time, and the breakfast was individually ordered and well cooked.

Property had lots of charm. Sine parts of manir were a bit dated but still pleasant overall. Food was very good.

The manor house and our room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and served in the main building. The staff was helpful and friendly. It's close to Highclere Castle, Downton Abbey, which was our main reason for staying here. The Bombay Gin Distillery is nearby, and has Avery interesting tour. I would stay here again for sure.

A Country Manor Experience
We chose this hotel as we wanted a Country experience. After staying in various good accommodation around England I was a little disappointed initially. The hotel isn’t grand but a lovely old house. Our room was comfortable, the bathroom facilities excellent. There is NO WiFi as it states which is difficult when travelling. There is NO air conditioning in the rooms. A terrace for drinks and a dining room. The service is good but the food is average and a little disappointing for the price. There are no extra facilities so nothing to do. Noticing the other guests, they were very much in their retirement years and frankly, not at all friendly. This is obviously the age group that is attracted here. I found the lady that co owned it very lovely.

Review of Esseborne Manor Hotel
A pleasant stay for a one night business trip with beautiful grounds, an ideal proposition for a wedding. The two members of staff I met were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are large and spacious but lacking in plug sockets for the modern technology and most of the bedrooms have foot boards which isn't to everyone's taste. Overall a pleasant day and I would definitely recommend

90th birthday party
Attended a function for a 90 year old relative. The whole event went off very smoothly and the pipe band was allowed to play inside the hotel as the weather was inclement.

Lovely staff
We stayed one night following a birthday lunch at the hotel with friends. The room was large as was the bathroom. The bathroom could probably do with updating sometime soon as it is a little 'tired', but the water was hot and the shower powerful. We didn't get to use the grounds and garden but they looked very pleasant with garden chess and many nooks for seating.

Old charm
My bed was very comfortable and the huge jacuzzi bath could fit a football team. The service at breakfast and dinner was slow but the food was worth the wait. The staff were very friendly. When in the area I would stay again as it’s rare when in a hotel I don’t want to get up in the morning because I am so comfortable. There was a good range of complimentary toiletries too

Beautiful hotel 8 min from Highclere Castle
Beautiful grounds and delicious price fix menu! Absolutely delicious - best risotto I've ever eaten and lovely canapés. My family (2 adults, 2 kids - ages 10 and 12) were so happy to be there. Wish we had stayed longer. Slightly dated rooms, but that sort of added to the charm. Friendly staff, wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

Great location but a hotel in need of improvement
A lovely location yet the room and bathroom, though spacious, were in need of updating and a good clean. For instance the bathroom sink had a couple of dead insects by the tap and staining. In the evening we were disappointed to be advised that they could not cater for a diner with Coeliac's Disease. Despite notification when booking and assurances on arrival when breakfast came not only did staff have no awareness of the need for one breakfast to be gluten-free due to Coeliac's Disease they also failed to understand what gluten-free was and offer a safe breakfast.

The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with a good selection of products in the large bathroom, proper pillows (not horrible latex ones), proper removable coathangers, tea/coffee, biscuits and bottled water provided, a dressing table and plenty of drawer and hanging space. No blaring mukzak in the public areas, friendly, efficient staff and very good, reasonably priced food at dinner as well as a delicious breakfast with eggs cooked to order. I was very impressed by this hotel, set in lovely gardens.

Lovely house set in beautiful gardens
My experience was extremely pleasant. The house is very attractive and set in lovely gardens (which, to my disappointment due to heavy rain we were unable further explore). The staff were efficient and very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and the furnishings were in keeping with the style of the house. If I were to niggle about anything I would say the t.v. was a bit small for the size of the room but really it wasn't a big deal to me. The room was supplied with everything I could need (all those little extras that add to the luxurious feeling of a stay). The biggest surprise of all was the food in the restaurant. The standard was very high and our evening meal was delicious. It was so good that I am recommending it to family that live in the area as a good evening out. I would most definitely stay again.

Quaint inn
Quaint inn close to Highclere Castle. Breakfast included was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Trouble with the shower (water only worked well for one of 3 of the guests. Trouble with toilet flushing or it would run and run. Could have been just that particular room. Grounds are beautiful and it would be ideal for a longer stay to take advantage of all it has to offer.

Lovely country hotel
From the moment your tyres crunch on the gravel drive, you feel you've found a special place. The service was friendly, the breakfast was excellent and the wholle hotel had an old-fashioned charm about it.

Beau manoir situé dans une superbe region,
Situé à côté de highclere castle le château de la série downton abbey- l'equipe y a sejourné pendant le tournage. Beaucoup d'excursions dans la region. Personneel très gentil, très joli jardin, dejeuner très brittannique.
