Hôtel très bien situé pour les transports: acces au 397 Schipol quasi devant, très près des musées et accès rapide vers les canaux. Personnel très sympathique et accueillant. Bémol pour le lit en 140 et la SDB si petite que le WC rend le lavabo inaccessible.

A couple of steps above a dump, really. Mirror light over the micro sink didn’t work, safe didn’t work properly, Light switch at door didn’t work. There was one pillow on the twin bed which was as thick and hard as an upholstered chair pillow. Paper-thin walls with thumping and screaming children. Breakfast was pretty decent, with hot items, but coffee was horrible. I would give it 2.5 stars, but not 3.

Great but be careful about choosing your room.
Wonderful place with friendly and hard-working staff. My only issue was that my room was on the first floor, next to the janitor's closet and dining area. At night, I heard someone pull things from the closet, making a loud noise from either the dining area or the closet. I woke up several times. So, you would request a room not next to the dining room and maybe upper floors.

Visa Debit card charge
Hotel was very good, but I was paying on arrival and I was surprised that there was an addtional 4% surcharge for paying with a Visa Debit card.

Great location for a budget hotel. No air conditioning but a fan was provided. If window was open, you could hear some traffic. Staff were very polite and helpful. Tram on the corner. Only negative was the hard pillows. They took some getting used to.

Walking distance to museums
Very clean hotel close to Museumplain (Van Gogh Museum and Reiksmuseum) with a good breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Room and bath were very tiny though- and no hotel lobby or sitting area , no extra frills . Fine for a night or 2 in Amsterdam.

Small hotel, with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean room, with modernized bathroom. Ultra convenient, located near main museums and major tram lines to take you to the rest of the city. Streetside room was a little noisy due to trams going by. Wish there was more storage for clothes- we had a small armoire with only 1 shelf for clothes that were not on hangers. A chest of drawers would have been handy (although hard to fit in such a small space). Overall, a good hotel that I would go back to.

Amsterdam has expensive hotels. The Bad We paid US$330 per day which included breakfast. The hotel is old Europe and the room was small. The mattress sagged and was uncomfortable. There is no air conditioning. We were happy to be there when the temperature was in the low 70s (F). The Good Great location of museum and supermarket. The staff was nice and English is spoken.

Avoid the single room at ground floor!!
The hotel locates at a nice and quiet neighborhood, also within very short walk to the museums. The single that I stayed was small but very clean and cozy. However, the nightmare started at late night when I was about to get a good night sleep for the long-haul flight next day. Divided by a very thin wall & door, all the footsteps, conversations, laughing and guests asking questions to the reception desk, early morning staffs cooking in the kitchen happening outside.....making my sleep impossible. I ended up putting on my noise-cancellation headset and set the cancellation to maximum. In short: this room should never be sold as a hotel room (for staffs only maybe), let along with local long weekend holiday, I ended up paying over 300 euros for such a nightmare. It's a ripped off and this should not be the right way to run business.

Good location near museums. We did not like: tiny room on top floor accessed by walking up to the top while lift stopped at floor below. Above all. we HATED the hard-as-rock pillows - when we complained the next morning, they said that they have softer ones, but those were not in the room when we needed them.

Las habitaciones son muy pequeñas. Si te toca en la cuarta planta, que sepas que el ascensor (sin puerta de seguridad) solo llega hasta la tercera, y de allí, un tramo de escaleras empinadísimas y oscuras para cargar tus maletas a la habitación. La ducha es minúscula, con el suelo seguido del cuarto de baño y separada por una cortina, con lo que lo más normal es que termine todo el baño inundado. Ojo en invierno, que cuando limpian dejan las ventanas abiertas. Pásate a media tarde a cerrarlas o cuando llegues por la noche no va a haber forma de calentar la habitación. Lo único que me gustó es que está bastante limpio y es bastante tranquilo

Nice hotel, room allocation a bit of lottery
I wrote a review elsewhere here after my last visit saying how disappointed I was with that stay. This visit, booked before my last stay, was far better. I was in room 32 which was small but perfectly fine, in contrasf to the truly dreadful room on my last visit. So it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to which room is assigned to you. Staff are helpful, location is excellent, and couldn't be more convenient for museum area. Only 2 minutes' walk to Concertgebouw concert hall. Hopefully this visit is more representative than last one.

Moyen au niveau de la propreté (salle de bain/toilette). Personnel accueillant et prend soin de bien expliquée les choses malgré la barrière de la langue. Hôtel très bien située au cœur des principales activités de la ville, très calme et aps aimant. Convient pour des familles,amis,couples ou seule. Les chambres sont belles, propres agréable et bien équipée.

Disappointing visit by regular
Very disappointing, sadly. I have stayed here 7 or 8 times previously, all of which were fine, and I mentioned I was a regular at check-in. Also brought a small box of biscuits as thank you to staff for help during last visit in August. Despite all that I was given the smallest room I've ever stayed in. The shower 'room' was so small the wash hand basis was installed outside it. I'd to do various contortions to get into the room, the door and bed were so tightly close. Dreadful experience. I'm a realist, I know rooms at this price in Amsterdam are modest, but this was crazy. So sad, after previous good stays, and the staff are very nice, room size not their problem!

Lovely place and great location
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall a great place and the location is a bonus. Walking distance to the Van Gogh Museum etc … I’ll definitely stay here again.
