Friendly staff, nice rooms and great value!
I thought the host and the staff were really friendly, great value for the money and the rooms were very nice. Definitely would stay again.

The property was awful, there was a plastic bag covering the smoke detector, mould in the bathroom and the bathroom stunk. I have never witnessed anything so bad in my life. I refused to stay in the property and i have been refused a refund. Totally unacceptable

Nice Amsterdam Stay
A nice clean, comfortable, and convenient location for our stay. No frills or particular ambience, but basic and a good value. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Great neighborhood with many options for dining and walking. Close to Vondelpark and Tram route. Would recommend.

It is not really worth my money. The pictures of the room at the time of booking not representing the really of how the rooms are now. The basic furniture is very old .. The stairs are horrible.The room need the new paint. I won’t really suggest this hotel

My wife and I booked a room at this hotel, and there are a few reasons we ended up finding a different hotel to stay in after we stayed one night out of three. First, the street it's located on is busy/loud at all hours of the night. Two, they did not put us in a room without AC during a bout of 90 deg F temps. The room had a window that would only open 2 inches because the bed was in front of it. This means very limited airflow and the window needed to be open to the loud street for any hope of cooling off the room. Three, the shower was tiny and the condition of the room was poor. Overall I would stay away from it as there are many other choices in Amsterdam.

The staff/owners were very nice. This hotel had very steep stairs and it was very very hard to use them! No air ! And it was hot!!!!!! And the staff was unwilling to supply an extra fan even. I would not suggest using this hotel if you can not handle steep winding stairs and no air conditioning.

I read in a previous post there were no lifts and you had to use the staircase to get to the room, which wouldn't have been a problem, but the stairs were narrow and winding, difficult when you have luggage. The room was a lot smaller than expected and the bathroom. A comfortable stay for 1 night and convenient for trams.

The hotel was ok. Nothing special. We had ants for the three nights we were there. Told the front desk and they just said “oh. I’m sorry”. I understand that it’s not their fault, but it’s not fun waking up in the morning with ants crawling on your arm. The bathroom was incredibly small. My son is 6’2 snd could barely fit in there. The breakfast was supposed to be until 10 so we showed up at 9:30 and everything was pretty much gone. I think it was 12 euros. My friend is vegetarian and couldn’t eat anything except toast and cheese. The location is great but wouldn’t stay there again.

Rigtig hyggeligt hotel, mega god service. Sød personale, og rigtig fine omgivelser. Hotellet ligger 100 meter fra en letbane, hvilket gør det mega nemt og komme hurtig ind til byen

The hotel was selected mainly for the location as I wanted to be very near to transport services. This is very easy to find and a few mins walk for the bus/ tram stops Be aware that the stairs are extremely steep and very narrow and there isn’t a lift Just a minor niggle but the water in the shower unit didn’t immediately clear and I stopped my shower as I wasn’t sure how close I was to flooding the bathroom Staff for check in/out were very friendly and helpful

Staff was nice. Janitor was always nice and made very clean result. The location is not the best but the transportation to everywhere was convenient. Also, the location is in residential area, so it was more quiet than in the city centre. Unfortunately, there was weak soundproof in our room. We could hear everything from neighbour rooms, hallway and outside hotel. Also, bathroom is in need of renovation. However, shower and sink worked fine. All in all, we liked the stay and the location.

Budget hotel good for travelers without a car
This hotel is small with very steep stairs to the room and no parking associated with hotel. Our description listed "parking available" and it was a major factor why I chose them. (There is neighborhood parking during the day for a hrly fee and free overnight) but there is no security. The front desk help was completely clueless about neighborhood parking rules and didnt seem to be worried that we were very disappointed and anxious about our rental car. We had to figure it out on our own. The room had a shower with part of the glass enclosure missing that was covered by a curtain. Overall the room was clean but had a youth hostel feel and was not worth the price.

Hôtel agréable et bien situé
Hôtel agréable et le personnel est très sympathique. La chambre est propre et le lit très confortable. Un petit rafraichissement des peintures et des petits meubles seraient nécessaire, mais cela n'affecte pas l'ensemble. L'hôtel est bien situé à proximité du tram qui emmène en centre ville. Le petit déjeuner est très correct

An enjoyable stay.
An enjoyable and comfortable stay at the Apple Inn. A spacious room. Tram 2 runs just outside the hotel so very convenient. Airport express bus station is 5 mins walk away and operates regularly so excellent for travellers/tourists.

Great location in the Museum district with a tram outside the door and near to a stop on direct bus service from airport. Lots of good restaurants, bars and cafes nearby and close walk to many attractions. Our room was a little compact and the bathroom very small but for the overnight stay we had it was perfectly OK. the staff were very helpful with local information and breakfast was a good buffet for 12.50 euros. a very quiet location even with the trams.

Helpful and friendly staff. Good sized room for a solo traveller and it was clean, with good lighting and shower. The area is a nice one to stay in, with Vondelpark nearby and an easy route to the main tourist areas, either walking or by tram. Would happily stay here again.

Clean and good sized space. Poor design— hard to access the mirror, very dim lighting, not much air circulation, can’t walk beside beds. Many of the bikes were broken and despite trying several and returning early we were not able to receive a refund. Tried to give us the same broken bike twice. Somewhat disorganized staff. Overall, not bad.

It was fine
A bit on the noisy side with paper-thin walls, but it did what it had to do. Gave us a place to sleep and a place to have a shower. A really nice shower. We did know about the stairs and no elevator before we checked in but it was a bit of a pain to climb when you are at the top. We were offered another room with twin beds on a lower level.

We were very disappointed with this place! While the pictures on the hotel website and Expedia shows a very nice hotel, the reality is completely different! The hotel looks like a cheap chinatown hotel, the room was cold and several furniture damaged!

Uns hat vor allem die ruhige und dennoch verkehrsgünstige Lage gefallen. Wenn man beim Städtetrip das Zimmer eh nur zum schlafen braucht, ist alles völlig ausreichend. Wir hatten ein superior Zimmer mit einem kleinen séparée, das hat uns gut gefallen. Das Badezimmer war wie durch einen Wandschrank zu erreichen, das war etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig und die Dusche hatte sehr wenig Wasserdruck. Alles in allem aber sauber, ruhig und hübsch.

Avoid if you can!
Steep steps to the second floor, and hair everywhere. If they put you in room 12, run a mile. Right at the top of the building, at the top of some very steep stairs, and with a damp problem so bad it made a birthday card soggy within 48 hours. They did move us to room 4 after I asked to be moved but no apology was given, and they had tried to suggest we were at fault, and basically made us pack up immediately so they could move us into another room. When doing this I discovered a slipper under the bed that didn't belong to us. I left it where I found it, but it was moved with our belongings... Room 4 looks out onto the street, where works began on the tram lines at 7:30am. We were also awoken by late check-ins (our room was above reception) and the fan of another room I think, as well as hearing a child running overhead while we were trying to sleep. The pillows were appalling and we've both got bad necks as a result. The bedding in room 4 was holey. I would 100% avoid this place, as it not only ruined my partner's birthday but our first holiday in 3 years, as I've had to spend a lot of time dealing with this through hotels.com as well as at the hotel. Currently waiting on a resolution, but there is never a manager available to talk with hotels.com.
