"Very very difficult to get up to our room because of the multi levels of stairs but more importantly copious copious doorways that had to be unlocked to go through to next section. I understand the idea of safety but the situation was frustratingly comical- how laborious and time consuming it all was."

"A very beautiful and unique hotel in a spectacular area just away from the tourist drag of Bath city center. The hotel has alot of character and period decor. Its an old hotel, so the heating was nit on, understandibly so as it was May. The plumbing is also not updated, so there is a hot tap and a cold tap at the sink. The facilities are adequate for a shorter stay. The hotel is being upgraded, so there was alot of noise above us for our 2 night stay. The staff are friendly and helpful."

"Room was small but clean enough. The big problem with us was the stairs and no lift. We were at the top of the hotel and quite a few flights of stairs . We are in our 70s and had two suitcases about 45lbs each. Ended up leaving them in the car and just taking what we needed from them for the night. We are from Canada and I understand a lot of hotels in Britain are like that."

"The room was clean and the breakfast was buffet style (hot and cold) with an abundance of choice. Tea, coffee and a choice of juices were available. Check out was a simple key drop."

"There was a problem with the room. But they did move us. I don't think Pets should be allowed in a hotel like this, we were moved as the room next door had a barking dog. Otherwise, beautiful grounds and rooms. Staff at breakfast very welcoming, good quality food. Spa was clean. And a good stay"

"Richard is a wonderful and generous host full of gentle attentions. His Grosvenor Villa has a great history that you will start discovering as soon as you enter the magnificent lobby. A nice 20 minutes walk to reach downtown Bath, it’s a central point to discover Stonehenge, Bristol, Cardiff and the charming villages of the Cotswold. We highly recommend it and we would we would return with so much pleasure!"

"Unfortunately while this property is lovely the stay was very inconvenient and I wish I’d stayed in a hotel instead. Cos it’s not a hotel and therefore has no reception or left luggage facility I had to drag my bag around Bath for most of the weekend. Check in is at 3pm and, unlike a hotel, there was nowhere in the property to leave luggage. Check out was ludicrously early at 10am so I had to take my luggage with me then. "Hotel is located in the center of Bath and 12 minutes walk to Roman Bath. Walking to Jane Austen Center, circus or Royal Cresent all within 15 minutes. Room is well sized and tastefully decorated and sparkly clean. Have to mention that the bathroom was beautifully designed. Amenities provided was great, like kettle, coffee press machine, safe, etc. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Although it is in central area but night time the street was very quiet. "Clean rooms, comfortable bed, one of the few a/c rooms in the Cotswolds. Friendly, helpful staff and fantastic location. We walked to the thermal bath spa and had a wonderful soak the morning that we checked out. Staff was very accommodating and keeping our bags for the day."
