"I read a number of the negative reviews (after I had booked) and arrived at the hotel with anticipation of being disappointed. I am glad to say we had a lovely stay. Food was good, staff helpful, it is a lovely setting. I stayed in the river view suite and the room was great. Design good and lots of space. There is a lovely walk along the river. My only regret was that I had not figured where the hot buffet was at breakfast. I only spotted it when I was leaving. Thankfully, I was not there when...

"Super convenient and bougie hotel! Great location right on the Douro. Everything was great; just a bit on the pricey side. A bit disappointing that I couldn’t get a room with a balcony or a reservation on the rooftop restaurant, but oh well. Breakfast was good. Was a great surprise to have a second bathroom! As Canadians, the absence of decent, large size coffee is a bummer, but that’s the European way!"

"Buffet breakfast was amazing; such variety with hot and cold options. Hotel wasn’t within walk proximity to downtown, but Uber and Metro very efficient. We enjoyed a drink in the beautiful bar lobby at the end of our days, and the hotel was quiet and seemed to attract a mature clientele. We would definitely stay again."

"Fabulous location and the views are amazing as you eat breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the river and bridge Staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you they work so hard Fabulous comfy bed; great hot shower- the toiletries smell gorgeous too ! The bar and swimming pool are lovely and we were given a complimentary cocktail too Breakfast was beyond expectations nothing missing and so much more Thank you for everything Enjoy this place fellow travellers 👍"

"Amazing property"

"We did not stay at Lenscape coterie as it was undergoing renovations and therefore not open. We were relocated to another hotel in the group Torel Saboaria where we had a wonderful room. The breakfast was superb we had lunch and dinner which were equally as good as breakfast. We cannot thank all the staff enough as everyone was so kind, helpful and attentive even to the point of providing gluten free pancakes at breakfast."

"Die Box hat mir alles geboten was ich wollte. Kein Hotel, genau das was ich gesucht habe. Wer eine Reise ohne den speziellen Service eines Hotels sucht ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Weiterhin ist das Personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mir wurden verschiedene Anlaufpunkte, Museen und weitere Aktivitäten vorgeschlagen. Ein total entspannter Urlaub. Ich plane gerade für die Winterzeit meinen nächsten Besuch."

"Het is een heerlijk hotel, goed gelegen, heel behulpzaam personeel, uitstekend ontbijt. Het enige minpunt is het lawaai buiten op het terras en bij het zwembad. Er is vlak naast het hotel een soort centrale (energie?) die veel lawaai maakt. Ook het verkeer buiten hoor je hard."
