"Sure charge when demand lets them. National holiday and top price for their product. Check-in process was, okay. We had to wait three hours for our room to become available. Like so many others, we just left our bags and went exploring and crowds, and the forest through them. We were given wrong information at check in about securing tickets to the sunrise train the following morning (we could easily have gone down to the station and purchased our two tickets that afternoon for the following morning, but were assured by check in that was not necessary. So 3am start and we go to the station ad we were the LAST TWO TICKETS AVAILABLE. There were LOADS more people queuing behind us that missed out! They should have known this without doubt. If we didn't get those last two tickets (after queuing for 45 minutes) I would give this property one star, so luck is on their side as well. Shuttle service was good and convenient. The room was okay. Not worth the charge. There was a thick dust later on surfaces throughout the room. Very poor housekeeping. The meals were the highlight for our stay and I cannot praise them enough. 5 start for their presentation - very good. Location in the 'forest' is good, but the property definitely needs some TLC. Makes me wonder where the profit is going from the exorbitant charges. It is though really a monopoly here. It was overall a good experience, but at a cost. The location and experience IMHO is overrated but for us, adventure worth it."

"Large, clean room and building, good breakfast, very convinent to the siteseeing spots and train station in walking distances. I appreciate the cleaning and replacing towels every day. However, for guests like us to stay for 3 nights, I feel it's a waste to replace towels everyday unless requested. Some hotels do notice for guests: if the towels are on the hook or hanging, they don't need to be replaced. If they are on the floor, they need to be replaced with clean ones. Some hotels with the "do not disturb" sign. If the sign is on, it means no need to clean besides they may be inside the rooms. But your "don't disturb" sign only is on when guest is inside. When guests are out with the key out of the room, the sign is off."

"The hotel was dated and a bit far from walking to the Chiayi Station. There was a large stain on the cushioned headboard and did not look good at all. The shower was located at a corner of the bathroom without enclosure or shower curtain, whenever we took shower, the entire bathroom including the cabinets, vanity top, toilet, etc was wet. Really strange design! Breakfast was good with many items. Staffs were friendly."
