"This is a really sweet little place to stay. The manager John is outstanding. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable in a Native American style. There were hand carved wooden animal statues dotted around the gardens, lush with flowers even in May. Right on the Uncompaghre River, trees all around and stunning views of the mountains when you walked out your door. It was quiet, just down the hill from the Main Street of Ouray. Box Canyon is an easy drive from there. The continental breakfast was very simple but all you really needed. Eggs and yogurt were added for the asking. I’d stay there again."

"Very nice historic hotel with very clean but smaller rooms that go with this vintage hotel ..We highly recommend for a short visit as very well located and easy parking right in front of the hotel...No elevator so you will need to be prepared to carry your luggage up one floor to your well appointed room ..The staff is wonderful and helpful...The breakfast was very nice and plentiful..Only reason not a 5th star was lack of really hot water in the shower 1 night but plentiful in the morning...Not sure why this was but did not spoil our stay...A quiet adult only hotel that you will enjoy!!"

"It's an older motel, which I knew when I booked it. It was clean; however, there was a musty/moldy smell in the bathroom but no visible signs of mold - perhaps in the walls? This is a picky thing of mine, but I hate when different lights are in the same light fixture, some soft-white and others cool white. I know - 1st world problems, but details matters."

"Location was perfect for all the local attractions. Within walking distance to Main Street and the hot springs. The staff was very friendly and the establishment offers cookies and wine daily along with a morning breakfast. The rooms are outdated and our room had a strange smell possibly from moisture (water leak)? The bed was not comfortable. Location is still amazing and when your in a town this beautiful your not in your room long:)"

"The numeric code lock was a new one for me, and I liked it. The "desk clerk" behind the register at the convenience store was also a new one, and she was great, although the smell of bug spray in the store was not. The desk clerk's excitement about the complimentary s'mores kit was super cute, and added to the joyful feeling of being in Ouray. At the time of our visit, mid May 2026, and after we had spent the afternoon driving in a dangerous winter storm, it struck us that there were many vehicles in the parking lot, but only three kinds of vehicles: Subarus, Jeeps, and Super Duty trucks. It was amusing. There's supposed to be a Smokehouse Cafe 347 yards up the walking trail, but it was closed when we were there. We at at Brick House in town and it was FANTASTIC."
