Exceeded expectations!
We were originally booked at Capt Inn & Suites and since they were closing prior to our booked reservation, we were moved to Thomson’s Resort.
Thomson’s exceeded my expectations. It was really decorated nicely decorated and felt homey. The view off the balcony of Boldt Castle was spectacular as well!
My only two critiques was that our room was located up 26 stairs and we weren’t told that ahead of time. I have a bad back so the stairs weren’t helpful and we tried to avoid going in and out of the room our whole stay to avoid the stairs. We did not book the room so we had no clue what we were getting and didn’t find out until we walked to it and found out it was 3 flights up with luggage and all. There was no way to change it since we were the last ones to arrive that day.
The only other item I would change is the orientation of the toilet. It’s kiddie corner in the bathroom and would have been easier to use had it been oriented straight ahead, perpendicular to the shower. The counter sticks out a bit so I needed to bring light in with me when up to use the bathroom at night so as not to walk into the counter.
But overall, the property is nice and and well cared for and clean, and of course you can’t beat the views.
