Impeccable service, very comfortable bed, our room had a wood fire stove and was stocked with wood, the room was large and beautifully decorated and there is an amazing very large garden surrounded by walls so it’s a private oasis of tranquility. Lovely lovely place!

Prachtige zonsondergangen.

In this rather quite city this at first sight somewhat unimpressive set of buildings making up a villa from the 16th century I found a kind of calm that new hotels cannot give you. Charming rooms, a calming courtyard and a garden that feels like a park results in an enjoyable atmosphere. But you will not get services that larger, modern and more luxurious hotels can give, but I did not miss that one second. Likewise, breakfast had all you need, but not more, and was in an cellar built with arches built with bricks that at least looked roman to my untrained eyes. The area was quite in early March, but there were many smaller restaurants nearby, and a large outlet-mall at the outskirts of the city. After a longer vacation travelling around much of northern Portugal I was looking for a place to relax, and here found the perfect place!

We enjoyed our stay for the most part however a few things were a bit frustrating. The room we reserved should have had two beds not one for my daughter and I. Ultimately they did make a good effort to rectify the error. The accomodations were otherwise nice and clean. The internet was poor which was a problem. The surrounding gardens were very nice as was the breakfast although it would have been helpful if available options for eggs other than hard boiled were made clear in english for non Portugese speakers.

Fantastic gem next to Lisbon

Special, fantastic place. Historical building. Room was large and comfortable. Parking plentiful. The grounds are fabulous. This is now my go-to hotel next to the airport but it's also worth staying to explore Alcochete and its restaurants.

Hidden gem, close to the airport but a world away

Absolutely beautiful property, hidden from the world, with beautiful gardens, great pool, lots of activities and really comfortable beds, unlike lots of other hotels in the region. Quiet because of the really thick walls, has AC but stayed cool even during very hot weather. Staff were very kind and helpful, and made an amazing breakfast. Immaculately clean and in beautiful shape, preserving the history of a really special place. Alcochete is a lovely little town, and it's an easy walk to the water and restaurants and supermarkets. Plenty of convenient parking and easy check in (remember to have cash or card for 20 Euro deposit for the minibar, refunded in the morning if you don't use. 20 minutes to the airport. Extremely special place!

This is a delightful place and a fun and unexpected find. We were just looking for a place near the airport to stay the night before we left, but wished we could have actually had some time here. It is beautiful with lovely grounds and amenities - pool, tennis, games, bikes. If you love historical places, this is for you. I only wish they had materials telling about the history of the building (written in multiple languages of course). The setting on the coast we lovely, but on a Monday night there was a lack of nearby restaurants. The mattress was a bit hard, but not terrible. The breakfast was amazing and served in an old wine cellar.
