"Quaint historic hotel: comfortable, clean and well maintained. The rooms are small compared contemporary hotels and motels, but that's part of the charm. The continental breakfast was remarkable with hot and cold food choices and plenty of fresh brewed coffee. Hotel staff were professional, helpful and friendly. An excellent value and a unique, positive experience."

"There were a variety of different places to stay on the property. You could stay in the rooms in the hotel, in small tiny cabins, or in an RV. Our RV was exceptionally clean. It was a tiny bit dated but served the purpose for one night. It is very close to the sand dunes (it took us about 10 minutes to get out there), and you can see them very well from the lodge. They say the sunsets from the lodge are really pretty overlooking the dunes. They rent the sleds that you use to slide down the sand dunes right on the property, so that made it very convenient.They were very organized. She had our key in an envelope with directions on exactly how to get to our RV, and she had it pinned to the bulletin board right beside the office door. In case you get there past check-in time, that's where you will find your key."

"Unique camping experience near the Great Sand Dunes. Spacious canvas tents with beds. Friendly staff. We loved the community bonfire and s’mores in the evenings. The to-go lunch packs and grill packs were great meal options. They have sand sled rentals. Our family really enjoyed our stay."

"To show the extent to which the staff gave assistance I note my rental car tire was flat leaving me stranded close to checkout time. The manager, Barry, provided the name & # of a nearby tire repair service & then personally aired my tire up with his portable air compressor so I could drive to the shop. He also extended my checkout time to accommodate the repair. WAY "above & beyond" the call of duty."

"Was at this property 36 hours with no WiFi the last 24hrs. Needed WiFi the second day there in order to work ☹️. As we were checking out noticed a sign on the pool that it would be closed that entire day. Beautifully maintained property- appears to be newish. Staff was very nice. They have a Weber grill out back available for use by guests. They do have a laundry room which was a plus for us. There is just one washer and one dryer but while there I didn’t notice anyone else use it besides myself."
