I was in Aachen on business and this is my second stay at Campus Boardinghouse.
Everything ok except that my room was cleaned on the Tuesday but not the rest of the week. I am not too messy so not too much of a problem for me but others may not like it. This is not a hotel though it is a mini apartment so maybe they have different cleaning schedules
Excellent room with kitchen and free parking, and conveniently located near Vaals. It is not exactly a hotel, though, with staff not present at all times (e.g., check in and check out). This was not a problem for me, though, and the great amenities far outstripped the minor inconvenience of self check-in and check-out.
I chose to drive a little further from Belgium to Aachen, Germany, because the photos of Campus Boardinghouse were nice and the price was excellent. The best part was that the photos were accurate and the price was a bargain. I ended up with a very large studio with a kitchen and large bathroom in a room that was comfortable and remarkably quiet despite being next to a major road. The location is less than 100 meters from the town of Vaals, Netherlands, on the road to Maastricht from Aachen. Check-in was simple, the unit was clean and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. You need a car as the hotel is at the edge of town but you could walk to Vaals or a bit further in the direction of Aachen to purchase food or go to a restaurant. There is not much on site but you can purchase breakfast if that is all you need. There is an Aldi's and a larger Etso grocery store in Vaals as well as a number of restaurants. Check-out was as simple as leaving the key in the door inside and leaving the door closed. I found it convenient and comfortable and would stay again if I were in the area. Aachen was Charlemagne's capital and the Cathedral he had built is impressive, as is the Townhall, an impressive Baroque-style building grafted onto much older fortifications.
An manchen Ecken müsste man nochmal genauer nachsehen..
Had a weekend break to visit my son who is currently doing a placement at the University of Aachen and lives in Vaals, so the location of this property was ideal. I was very impressed with my room, it was very spacious and clean. It included a kitchenette area and a large shower. I found the glass door to the bathroom a bit strange as it was not even frosted glass but wasn't really a problem for me as I was travelling alone. The fridge was replenished every day with a beer and bottled water as was the small fruit dish and a selection of preserves which I thought was a really nice touch. The kitchen area was equipped with microwave, large fridge, two ring hob, kettle, Tassimo coffee machine & toaster. Really enjoyed my stay here and it was very good value for money. I will hopefully be returning in December.
