"A lovely welcome by receptionist and an upgrade to a superior room was very nice. Lovely staff at breakfast too, especially Stephen. Food at breakfast was lovely. Rooms are a bit dated and in need of some decoration but bedding lovely and clean. Pool nice but spoilt by younger generation who didn’t know how to behave in a spa pool. Parking next to hotel really easy. £6/night. Pay at reception. "

"The property has spacious rooms but standard is not 4 stars. The amazing green surroundings compensate for the dated decor of the rooms. Fusion restaurant is not very good. "

"Apart from a couple of black marks I loved it and will def use Marston's again. Friendly personable staff, great food, huge breakfast, good range of beers, very comfortable. Black marks? Tepid water made showering a brief and not very enjoyable experience and the worst, cheapest loo paperI have ever used. I will use Marston's again but I will take my own toilet paper!"

"A good hotel with excellent staff and clean rooms. Only let down by breakfast as every item on the buffet was at best lukewarm. I was on a tight time schedule so couldn’t complain and get fresh food. However, surely staff should be checking this, using temperature probes etc? "

"We stayed at Gisborough Hall to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Our Saturday meal at the restaurant was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful"

"Lovely Hotel. It was quite expensive for an overnight stay but very comfy beds and great staff. The lady on reception personally escorted us to our room upon arrival and the restaurant staff were very knowledgeable about the menu. Saltburn is lovely and the sea-front is a short walk from the hotel. The hotel is very 'quirky' with it's decor and antiques, but we liked this. There's a lovely outside seating area. We had a 'corner' room, with windows either side which was nice. Good sized room and...

"Last minute booking and what a great little find. Room was spacious and beds comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Shower was pretty low pressure but got us all clean and in all we had a great stay. Location is brilliant, 10 mins walk to the beach and 15/20 mins walk into Whitby centre. Only downside is no breakfast available but plenty of places in Whitby for this. "

"Lovely stay with great staff and service. Really good breakfast. When it says the bed is a double it means a double. Bear that in mind if you are used to a King or Queen sized bed! Would quite happily stay here again"
