"This place is a special stop to add to your trip. The owner is the sweetest person I have met and she will take good care of you. This is not in town so you must contact the owner for a pickup. If you are doing a border crossing have your snacks money etc before staying. But to stay here and enjoy the owners homecooked meals, the quiet of the rice fields and the comforts of these little cabanas is a nice refreshing experience. As a solo traveler this gave me a little piece of "mama" energy...

Without even asking our names or looking at our reservation, we were told to get in the truck and be taken to another hotel. No room at Baanfai was there only explanation! "Wir haben hier 2 fantastische Tage verbracht und das Thailand abseits der üblichen Hotelketten kennengelernt. Der Komfort entspricht vielleicht nicht den üblichen 5 Sternen, aber dennoch sollte man diese Art der Übernachtung mal gemacht haben. Das Highlight war die Aussicht ins Tal bis zum Mekong und darüber hinaus bis Laos.
