"Our room was not cleaned during our stay! Offered lame excuses, but no resolution! Other than that, it’s a good location! Embers should be opened more than 3 times / week"
"The room was clean and in order. Cleaning service is only done on request. The staff is very unprofessional, unfriendly and not knowledgeable of the property. While trying to find a fire pit, we were directed to a BBQ. When we returned to the lobby, the staff finally figured out the difference between a fire pit and a BBQ and then proceeded to tell us that the hotel does not provide firewood. Note, they do not sell firewood in their store either. The staff was very rude when asked questions. Breakfast was disgusting. They show a menu online, but they only offer a buffet of about 6 items that were not worth the price. The restaurant, lounge and pizza place is closed all day long so there is nothing offered as far as hot food or drink goes, unless you want to purchase a hungry man frozen dinner in the lobby. The property is beautiful and it could be so much more if the right person or investors were to purchase it. Needless to say, I’d rather stay further down the hill and have better service than to stay at this place. Very disappointed customer."
"We had a great stay here! The rooms were spacious with a charming, old-school feel. The location is about an hour’s drive from Yosemite Valley in Mariposa, set in a truly gorgeous area.
The restaurant served amazing food at very good value for money, especially the trail lunch pack, which was both affordable and incredibly well prepared. The cheap laundry facilities were also very convenient during our stay.
The staff were extremely helpful and offered plenty of great recommendations for things to do in Yosemite Valley, which we really appreciated.
Would highly recommend this place!"
"Our room was well laid out, and had all the necessary amenities. No fancy carpeting, but the floors were probably cleaner. There was ample lighting. Our only complaint was that it was hard to plug in a CPAP machine, since the extra outlets were hidden behind the heavy queen-sized beds. There were plenty of outlets in other parts of the room. The shower was very good. Plenty of hot water.
The Keurig machine was welcome, and extra pods, tea bags, etc., were available in the office.
The staff (of one woman) was exceedingly helpful. She recommended two restaurants and suggested we check them out online--we chose the one right next door, which had excellent food and a friendly atmosphere.
All in all, we enjoyed our one-night stay. The location was convenient for sightseeing, too."
"Nice heated pool. The food was excellent at the restaurant and the lodge store had a big selection of food, drinks, and souvenirs. The balconies are a great place to relax. FYI, the lodge is 2.5 hours from the west and south entrances to Yosemite. The road is slow and curvy through the mountains. "
"It had everything you would expect from a 1 star motel. We had to travel to another location for check in (it was not communicated beforehand). The room was very dirty, stains everywhere. Toilet didn't flush properly. The room had a terrible smell. The air conditioning was very loud, probably technology of 50 years ago. The sheets and towels were very old. One of the towels was so old that it was ripped. The location was decent. 30 minutes drive from Yosemite Valley. So, if you want to pay 300+ USD for an OK location, this is your place. Otherwise, avoid it at all costs. I would never stay here again. "
"The cottage was nice and very comfortable. All basics provided. There was the lack of shade-bring your own canopy. Also, the pic shows propane bbq but only had charcoal set up."
