The place was so beautifully well kept. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we were traveling through England. This place was conveniently located near the middle of the city and about a 10 minute walk to the train station, however, it was not noisy. It was like our own little apartment away from home. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re wanting to vacation to York! We will be back!

Great place and location

Straight forward and easy check in process. codes for lock boxes sent day before check in. Apartment was very clean and well equipped, everything we needed for a couple of nights.The location is excellent for walking in to York either along the road or along the river. We arrived slightly early and the attached carpark was nearly empty. If we had arrived later, it would have been only a short walk from the nearby Margate carpark.Which always had spaces during our stay and would have been nearly the same price.

Ideal location

The room seemed a little tired, and could do with a bit of tlc, the bed was very comfy, the shower had good pressure, The Tv had an issue which was sorted fairly easily, the issue we had was the microwave was absolutely filthy, it clearly hadn’t been cleaned for weeks, the owner was very apologetic but we had to give it a really good clean before we could use it, The issue with the TV Meade moved into a different room which was better. It’s ideally placed to the railway station and a nice walk into the city

Location was good for central York and saved a load of parking hassle. But toilet bowl had algae, grill had not been cleaned and photos online were of a completely different property.!this was rectified but the correction contained the wrong address 3 sycamore not 2

Couldn’t fault the location, 10 minutes from centre of York. The studio was clean and comfortable, however it could do with a new shower as my husband had to crouch under the shower head and the water pressure was not great. Also the mattress was so firm I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet and using the throw as a cover. That being said, I would use this accommodation again.

Elaine advised there is hairdryer and hotels.com listed it as well. On the first night, I had to sleep with my wet hair as the hairdryer was not provided on time as listed. No apologies made. I asked for a duvet cover using a word "blanket sheet". They did not provide it, with excuses that my English is not good enough to make them understand. I sent them by text messages as they advised they were unavailable for a call. Why cannot just respectfully ask me again if I meant was duvet cover. Are they discriminate non-English speakers with minority last name? They ordered me to leave my key with them without asking my permission if it was ok with me by having someone visiting them. Their policies said on Hotels.com that they wouldn't provide cleaning services during my stay, so I expected nobody enters my room. When their policies are tend to be changed, they should inform me what they intended to do and get my permission. I would say, your services are inconsistent, slow and rude. I travelled so many places and stayed with many hotels and apartments. It's upset to see such services. I wouldn't stay with you if I could have found a place with a kitchen.

Apartment 9, top floor

We stayed in apartment 9 which is on the top floor, up three flights of stairs. There isn't a lift so this room wouldn't be accessible to less-abled guests. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Sycamore Place is in a perfect location for York city centre, about a 15 minute walk away, there are also bars and restaurants nearby. The apartment building is looking a bit tired, especially the communal areas and the bathroom needs refreshing.Overall, we were happy with the accommodation, and would stay there again, but would chose a different room.
