"There was a wedding on , so couldn’t sit outside which was a shame, as air con in the bar was too cold. Didn’t stay and have another drink coz just too cold. Used spa
Which was nice, but ladies changing rooms need more space and the floor needed to be cleaned more often. Minor point, but generally hotel nice"
"Very welcoming, quirky and unique experience. Breakfast amazing with lovely staff.
Lovely clean cell only issue was didn't get much sleep due to the hard pillows. Definitely would stay again and recommended. Great pub next door ."
"Great service and a beautiful room - we stayed in the bakehouse garden suite. Did was delicious and the bar was quirky with friendly and very helpful staff. Will stay again"
"There is no guest house, it's a scam, fraud, fake.
I want my money back!
They accept booking, you get confirmation and you don't get room, they don't answer your call.
Need to report it to every possible site!"
"Absolutely superb place to stay and amazing hosts. Excellently located to stroll into Winchester. Parking available and Dotty couldn’t do enough for us, whilst giving us space to chill. Superb breakfast cooked to order too. Highly recommended"
"I needed a place near the Saxon sites and Cathedral. And it didn't hurt that the Westgate was just a five minute walk from the rail station. It's an old place, and it had the feel of the ages in the floors and doors. But that was part of the overall experience for me. It had charm. The staff was very accommodating, and I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Westgate. It was all good. And it was across the street from the medieval Westgate to the city as well. I would stay there again if ever get the chance to visit the area again."
"The view of Winchester Cathedral from my bedroom was amazing. All of the staff were extremely helpful and positive including promptly resolving air temperature issues in my room. The room was spotlessly clean. But the room felt rather tired with scratched and battered furniture and a dated bathroom. The decor in the bar and restaurant did not reflect the historic location of the building and seemed very generic and unimaginative"
