The place was great, but could use some renovations. The pool was very dirty. Overall the service was good though, Paulina at the bar was amazing, gave us some great recommendations and made great drinks.

We had a wonderful stay with Playa Canek! The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and you cannot beat walking from your room to a perfect beach with soft sand and crystal clear water. Our AC didn’t work one the nights we were there, and we couldn’t adjust the temperature during our stay when it was on, but this was pretty minor and otherwise we had a really wonderful time. Would stay here again!

The entrance is not attractive at all. As long as the price continues to be reasonable. We will come back. Highly recommend beachfront rooms. 3rd floor. Great view.

We stayed for 11 nights and had a fantastic time. The hotel is a wonderful place to have a vacation. Paulina in such an amazing hostess. Bruno is a wonderful owner and host. The staff are all super helpful and friendly. This is a small family owned hotel with that special touch. Do not expect all areas to have personnel at all times. But they are easy to find and so very helpful. The access to the beach is perfect. Our room on the third floor was so beautiful with an amazing view of the beach, sunrises and moon rises. We would highly recommend.

Room was not clean enough. Got 4 towels for a group of 6. Towels and sheets were stained. No blanket on one bed. No hot water in the shower Toilet needs 15 mins to flush each time. Nobody available onsite after 4pm. Place was not secured in the nights. Nobody at front desk to request.

The location on the map isn’t where the property is. It’s 3.5km a 40 minute walk. The host asked for information about my stay before accepting my request. I let the host know I was booking for a family member to stay across from La Zebra where we were staying.When we arrived in Tulum and saw the property was so far away the host said to request a refund. The host denied the refund afterwards. We didn’t use the property and had to pay for other accommodations.

Y’all the staff was so nice. I LOVED this property. The beach is directly behind the hotel. The only downfall is because this is an eco hotel, the air only works during certain times. But it was worth the stay and price!

Absolutely perfect for a no-frills beach trip. The staff was phenomenal, friendly, and helpful. Service was great and the staff also was great at sharing local info and recommendations. Couldn’t be easier to walk out of your hotel room and onto the beach with a full bar and cozy beach beds. Gave four stars on facilities only because the AC was down one night because of a power outage so that was a hot night, but was there for 5 nights total with no issues.

We really enjoyed the simple elegance of the property. The penthouse suite was reasonably priced relatively speaking, had amazing views and was ad advertised w/ plenty of space. The location was also A for enjoying the Tulum beach hotel / restaurant zone within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful, A/C at night was just what you needed for a good rest, and breakfast while small hit the spot daily to start the day off with a snack.

The staff was absolutely amazing! We really enjoyed our stay here. Super affordable and the place is stunning! The free breakfast was amazing and the massages we got were incredible! The only downside we had staying here was that there’s extremely limited parking (6 spots) and if there’s no room for you, you have to park across the street for $18 a night. Also, the pool pictured online, is a private pool not accessible to guests.

Eco-friendly not ideal for beach front

Directly on the beach. Walk from the sand right into your room. Although cute setup, the sand makes for messy floors. It rained the night we stayed so not the most ideal conditions. Rooms are spacious aong with bathroom. There is only 1-2 staff available at any given time. Being eco-friendly, the AC is only on from 8pm-7am nightly. The sargazo/seaweed was very bad during our stay and the town or hotels so not clean their part of the beach so we couldn't get any use of beachfront access. Beach bar area and seating was not open as the weather did not cooperate. The road along the hotel was relatively private. On the other hand the breakfast was included and good portion and individually made. Area food trucks and restaurants are nice but expensive.
