The Grey Gull Hotel

"The staff at the hotel was really friendly but if you have issues with lifting luggage it may be a problem getting up the stairs . We were not told when the breakfast was over so when we arrived at 950 am it was over and was only given toast and juice and coffee . We really enjoyed the supper as there was only one other place that was open in the village near by pier which was already booked for the night . The stay was really quite in the hotel which was also another plus but the beds were not the most comfortable which it would help if they had a topper on the mattress ."

"Jan and Darren were excellent hosts - they were very welcoming and took time to talk to their guests; they were interested and interesting. This helped to create a relaxed atmosphere between the guests as well. The room was clean, cosy and comfortable and everything we needed was on hand. Breakfasts were really lovely and a real departure from the normal fare offered. All in all a really lovely stay - many thanks."

"The property has a commanding view down the facing valley and is super conveniently placed on the main road. Walked into hotel (bar entrance) and straight into a busy bar area with people chatting, laughing, eating and clearly having a happy time. Room basic but clean, everything worked, super good night's sleep after a couple of pints of Jarl and a tasty hot salmon pasta. Breakfast generous and spot on. Very welcoming and friendly place!"

"The property is a grand old country house within walking distance of Bridgend. Our standard room was spacious and had lovely views over the grounds and the sea beyond. There were no chairs or a sofa in the room, even though there was ample space, so enjoying the view wasn't an easy option. The bed was comfy and the Nespresso machine was a nice touch. The communal areas were very inviting but we didn't utilise them as we were only staying one night. Cooked breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty."
