The Smile Hotel Asagaya was the first impression for my son and I, upon visiting Tokyo. The stay left a good impression. Though the rooms are small, the staff and accommodations are great. We enjoyed our time here.

Really appreciate the hotel is near the train station and close by to many stores and places to eat. It is also close to many parts of Tokyo that most tourists visit, but away enough that you don't feel overwhelmed by so many people like in other areas.

A good hotel. Beds are decent enough for a short stay, cannot hear the trains or street noise, windows do a job of blocking out the sound. Vending machines for hydration on every floor, beer vending top floor, both inexpensive. Can get to everything you will need in the area for food, bars, shopping, etc. Would stay again.

I really enjoyed my time here. Rooms are quite small but that was to expected for the price. Building also felt slightly old but it was clean so I didn't mind the fact it wasn't as modern. Staff is very kind and their service was good.

Good location

The room was small which wasn't unexpected but was tight for two people. Even though there were two beds, and therefore two people, we were only able to get one room key. The location was very close to the train station so it was situated quite well. We did a late check out and the fee I thought was reasonable.

Room was a bit small as every hotel was, As this is Japanese style . But that does not take away from the Customer service, the staff was amazing. They were excellent with giving towels, anything you needed. Hotel 1 min walk to train stations, and dining, shopping, everything. The price was right for 4 days in Japan. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to visit Japan. I would give it a 10 out of 10.

I enjoyed our stay at Smile Hotel Asagaya. The location and the proximity to Tokyo city as well as the walkable suburb of Asagaya was excellent. We tried to ship souvenirs back home but the friendly staff let us know they could only ship within Japan, and that we’d have to go to the post office (5 minute walk from the hotel) to arrange this. The room was cleaned every three days and fresh towels were provided every day. We’ll definitely be back for our next trip to Tokyo. 本当にありがとうございました

Lovely place to stay at, station is so close by and have loads of food plaves and shops. The staff is helpful and friendly, the house keepers done we great job cleaning the room every 3 days but provided clean towels everyday! Room is great for 2 adults, who go out everyday and explore. Keep in mind the room is small with 3 large suitcases! We had to open 1 at a time so we got space to move. Only thing i am grading low on is the smell of the toilet we can smell from the bathroom every time we opened the door.

A little annoying they switched from ac to heating so we were a little uncomfortable for most of our stay. Some parts of the hotel were old and seem to need repairs and the laundry did fine cleaning but the dryer was horrendous but I just went to nearby coin laundry. Still the room was great for the price and the convenience of the location is top notch. The staff was super friendly and despite the negatives i would stay here a 3rd time

Convenient location aged building

Price is cheaper but aged hotel , you can see everywhere need refurnish. The sink has smell come out since it is long history building. Pilows are very soft but not the good way, cant support yr neck and yr head will all the way to the bed, sleep quality was bad. Still using key to entry the room kind of old fashion. Good thg is every floor has its own vending machine for water to beer and location just right next to metro subway station, supermarket, a lot of restaurants and stores around.

SMILE hotel location was excellent, 3 min from JR Asagaya station. However the room itself was so small, there was hardly any room to move around the bed. But what really made me upset was the age-old feel and slight smell in my room, and the unit bath-shower-toilet room had black mold all around the caulking/wall seams. One night I heard a cockroach raiding my trash basket and I had to quickly push the basket out into the hallway. The staff was excellent and courteous, but they can't save this place which needs a serious updating/makeover.
