Great hotel in Nishi Shinjuku

I have stayed here many times over the past 10 years and it is always clean with great service. I will stay again next time I’m in town. The new electronic check in process makes it easy for foreigners. The hotel is located in a very convenient place.

Excellent location! Daughter loved that 7-11 was next door. Close to all the Shinjuku sites/activities. Easy walk to train station or subway. Fantastic luggage storage on check-in/out days!

Travellers always go to area surrounding Tokyo for few days side trip, when hotel cannot store luggage for a few days, it create burden to customer. Especially this hotel is pretty far away from JR station which most of the side trips transport start at.

This hotel was very convenient and very close to the Tokyo subway line that went to many desirable locations on one line. There were also convenience stores, restaurants, and coffee shops near by. I'm glad I chose to stay here instead of the heart of Shinjuku because it was very quiet, but you had access to Shibuya and Shinjuku. Very clean, small rooms. Staff was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Staff are helpful and friendly. Very convenient location. Took me 3min by foot from Nishi shinjuku station and 15min to Shinjuku station. The room was clean but I didn’t get view from the room. Overall I recommend

I like that it's quiet yet walkable to the main shopping around (around 10 mins ). It has 711 and family mart in a few steps. Room is decent size!

The location was nice. About a block away from a train station that can take you to most places in Tokyo. It's within walking distance to the more entertaining areas of Shinjuku, but far enough there aren't any touts trying to drag you off. There isn't any active ventilation in the bathroom so there's a bit of mildew if you start looking for it. But the rest of the room was very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly, answering all of my questions about checking out and luggage storage. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful staff and very close to all the needed sights of Shinjuku. About a 10-15 walk to Shinjuku Station and Kabukicho. Only down side is there was a weird egg smell that came from the pipes. It did go away if you close the drains and keep toilet seat down.

Very uncomfortable bed and smelly room

Although just a short ten minute walk from the craziness around Shinjuku station and Kabukicho, the area surrounding the hotel was dead quiet at night. Having stayed in more than a dozen hotels in Japan, this has without a doubt the most uncomfortable bed. It is hard as a rock. It doesn't even feel like there's a box spring mattress, but more like you're sleeping directly on wooden bed slats. The bathroom reeked of sewage. It probably didn't help that the ventilation in the bathroom was completely clogged up with dust. How on earth housekeeping and hotel maintenance couldn't catch this issue speaks volumes about this hotel. The windows have wooden shutters instead of blackout curtains. But they are too small, allowing for light to leak through. I had made a reservation for eight nights, but already on the first night I made reservations at another hotel in Shinjuku Gyoemmae. Unfortunately there were no rooms available immediately, so I had to stay at Nishitetsu Inn for two nights. I don't think I was able to sleep even for a minute. When checking out six nights prematurely no one at the front desk seemed interested in why I chose to leave so early. But then again, my reservation was non-refundable so they already had my money. At that point I regarded it as a sunk cost, I just wanted to get out of there and go to a proper hotel. I can't understand the good reviews for this place. It has the quality of a poor hostel with a fancy front desk.
