Top Taoyuan City Hotel Reviews
Miramar Garden Taipei
10/10 Excellent
"The original plan was to get a hotel near a night market, but this was changed for one that was more upscale further away from a night market hotspot. (It is was hoped to be a modest version of luxury as we are middle class and can't quite afford the real thing.) The hotel is clean and impressive. There is cool modern art in the hotel and in the immediate area around the hotel. In fact, the surprise might have been that the area around has a nice variety of shops and restaurants, in what I feared might have been a walking desert - instead, the area is wonderful and the food options are plenty. The location is only a 12-minute walk from an MRT station, which is either one stop from the Brown Line that takes you to Taipei Zoo, or 2 stops to the Red Line, which will take you all the way to Tamsui - so it ended up being pretty convenient. Breakfast was ok, but maybe slightly overpriced for what was offered. Not that the options were poor. The breakfast options were good...just that we've had better for slightly less. (However, by no means did we feel ripped off by the breakfast - it was not a bad breakfast). One great thing about the breakfast is the time it runs.. it goes until 10. That extra 30 to 60 mins was nice to take advantage of."
Hotel Kuva Chateau
8/10 Good
"The hotel reminds me of the 1990's heyday-era in Japan. The room was big and clean and we enjoyed it, but it looked dated and a little worn. For instance, the carpet is not perfectly clean...like it was definitely clean from a vacuum point of view, but you could tell that in 2018, etc., someone spilled something over a bit of it and the hotel did their best. If this type of thing is an issue, you may not want to stay here. But we wanted a basic, clean hotel with a big room, and it was very nice to stretch out after being in tighter accommodations. The pool was fine, although the hot tub wasn't all that hot. One plus: Depending on when you go, you may line up with a delightful night market at the neighboring park. We did and it was wonderful. So, while our original idea was "get us closer to the airport on our last day", it turned out to be a wonderful location with respect to the night market. The market had an atmosphere of a summer fair and is largely locals (assumed), since this is not one of the famous ones in neighboring Taipei. Overall - reasonable value."
Hyatt Regency Taoyuan International Airport
8/10 Good
"The shuttle bus was very punctual with the hotel only a kilometre away from Terminal 2. The room on the 7th floor was well appointed but there were signs of water damage on some of the plasters and cabinetry. The whole hotel is undergoing extensive renovation so the pool, gym and main restaurant are closed as well as most of the floors. We were still able to grab dinner, although options were limited. It was quite alright for one night though."
