Perfect place to stop over for one night for the recent Radio 2 in the park gig. I was travelling solo so I didn’t really get to check out the amenities as I just needed a bed to stay in for the night. It’s clearly an olde worlde hotel which must have seen lots of swish parties over its time, it’s a little bit dated in areas but tbh I thought it was perfect for what I needed. The room (211) was clean and the bed was comfy and I even had a tiny view of the mountains through a gap in the building! I slept well & enjoyed the tea and coffee. My only downside was that I couldn’t get wi-fi at all in my room. I tried a million times but no luck.. I think the room was in a blackout area, I had to sit on the stairs to ring my dad!! Also, going back down to the car park late at night there was no light in the corridor so I had to feel my way outside! However, I’m not going to end on a negative note. Overall my experience was really positive. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful & the location was right in the middle of Stirling so I’d def recommend it as somewhere to stop over briefly! I’d definitely choose to stay here again when I return to Stirling. Thank you to all the staff. Naomi :)

Clean room. Wear and tear as you should expect from a hotel from 1786. Good location in central Stirling.

The rooms were of very poor standard. The carpets were stained and threadbare in places. The decor hadn't been updated in a very long time and in places the paper was falling off the ceiling and all of the skirting boards were chipped with big chunks of paint missing. All of the furnishings were dirty, chairs, light shades and the extractor fan in the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anybody. It was very expensive and I was very disappointed. The worst hotel I've ever stayed at in Scotland.

Very dated and faded room which was in dire need of updating. (Room 215) Very 80s-esque. Small wall mounted TV, tired, stained and grubby chairs in room. Bathroom was very dated also, but clean. No sockets near bed side which was unusual. Even the hallways / corridors are dark and gloomy with the automatic lights and lack of natural light whilst walking too and from room. Wouldn't stay here again, it'd definitely be premier inn or travel lodge in Stirling in the future.
