We had an amazing time over Christmas at Villa Alma. Sofia was a great host and very attentive. The location is beautiful and peaceful. It's easy to get to from Salzburg and there's plenty of transport to get around nearby. There are a few good walks locally, including amazing views at the top of the Zwolferhorn. There was a good variety for breakfast, and the room was well designed and comfortable. The whole hotel was stylish and well thought through. Would definitely recommend.

The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Very polite staff. Super cool spa with saunas and pool. Breakfast was extremely delicious. The yard was very nicely decorated. Hotel for all generations.

Very comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. We swam in the lake on both days and walked round the lake which was very beautiful.

I stayed at the Hyperion during a last minute trip to Salzburg. The hotel is beautiful and the staff amazingly attentive. It is in a brilliant location- across the road from Mirabell palace and gardens and approximately a 10 minute stroll through the gardens and over the footbridge to reach the old town. Super welcome, fantastic 'Tower Room'. There is only one such room and it has panoramic views of Salzburg and environs. Breakfast, service, friendliness all first rate. A small hike out of town, but well worth it!

Ulrike, who manages Front of House, was absolutely superb. She provided one of the best welcomes I have enjoyed in a hotel for a long time.

Gorgeous setting with fabulous view. Staff welcoming yet unobtrusive. Lovely breakfast of different breads fresh fruit hams and cheeses yoghurts and hot eggs and bacon. Dinner stunning -regional dishes cooked to a fine dining style with locally sourced produce.

A lovely old building (1429!) stacked with history. Great location and the staff were all really friendly and happy to share their knowledge about the town. Would highly recommend.

Excellent hotel with a warm atmosphere. You can really feel that this is a hotel run by a family who are passionate in what they do. The room was very clean, it’s in a great location and the staff went above and beyond to help us. In fact, we have found all Austrians to be incredibly hospitable. I would highly recommend. Red roses,champagne,duvet folded in shape of heart with rose petals arranged around it...unexpected for our wedding anniversary. View from our window was of river, castle, and old town. Perfect room in everyway. All the staff were friendly and helpful in everyway. Could not fault hotel in anyway. Best hotel we have ever stayed in on our travels over the years

This hotel is amazing. It’s the best 5 star we have stayed at. The hotel staff are so welcoming and always there to help you. The views are just incredible, we booked a panoramic room and it was definitely worth it. The pools are lovely and the restaurants excellent. The breakfast has everything you could possibly want! Everything is excellent quality and is a lot more reasonably priced than a five star in the UK.

We love this hotel for many reasons: location is perfect, the warmth and kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the size of the rooms and bathroom, wonderful extra touches, fantastic restaurant. It is the embodiment of old world, elegant charm.

A second visit to the Blaue Gans - our 'go to' hotel when in Salzburg. A direct bus line from the airport drops you right outside the door - and your then based within an easy walk of all the main attractions in the old town. Fantastic staff throughout, with an extremely helpful reception team to help you get the most from your visit. Comfortable rooms, beautiful, simple, and with great design.
