"A lovely comfortable bed in the room. It was nice and clean and the hotel was very quiet, despite other guests and diners there. The breakfast was delicious the next morning and the staff were so friendly and polite throughout our stay. Would highly recommend. A great place to stay and eat"

"Charming B&B excellent accommodation great spot easy walk into Woodhallspa. Breakfast was superb. Staff and owners could not be more helpful. Plenty of parking, nice areas to sit and relax in and out of rooms. Immaculately clean. Good spot from which to walk cycle and tour. Quiet but not remote. In room refreshments aplenty and generous bathroom consumables including towels. Room airy, air con perfect given heatwave we encountered, shower big powerful and very nice. Bed huge and super comfy....

"Room was the let down. Bed sheets were rough, supplied desk fan was useless. I left at 6 am to travel back to get my own fan. No air con so room was so hot at night. To much junk on bed. By the time extra cushions were taken off. Not much room to move about in the room. Bathroom ok. Toilet quite close to wall. ROOM 315. not a pleasant stay. Staff were helpful. Gave us Taxi numbers but taxis not great to get."

"Easy parking, friendly receptionist, She noted we came as a family and gave us interconnecting rooms without having to be asked, Extra Brownie points. The rooms were large and clean with excellent air conditioning. Good Continental breakfast at a reasonable price. The hotel is located in a good location and is reasonably priced. As a result I strongly recommend it."

"For our 4 night stay everything was good. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable. We didn't eat in the hotel as we had catering at the FOCUS festival in Newark. The staff were cheerful and helpful. Our only gripe was that the lift was out of order for the whole 4 days, so we had a bit of a climb to the 2nd floor."

"Great hotel, great location, great facilities (including their own carpark). The staff were excellent and extremely helpful and our room was more like a suite, with 2 pairs of veranda doors. My only slight disappointment was the breakfast. I had a full English and I’d obviously been cooked 15 minutes previously and kept under hot plate. "The location is excellent - so close to the castle and cathedral. There are two very good real ale pubs just down the road and plenty of restaurants nearby. We were lucky enough to get free parking the whole of the week. The weather was hot, so air-conditioning would have been nice, although its a listed building so probably a challenge."

"No parking facility for single room occupancy was inconvenient and had to leave car in a nearby exposed housing estate and walk back. Check-in was confusing with key boxes on the wall for each room, but access is via the key coded digital front door lock. The hidden digital locks on the room door handles can be confusing for new arrivals. Room was basic and very noisy at street level, with only wooden blinds that let light in. All TV channels did not work. A budget hotel is what you pay for and...

"What a lovely place. A hidden gem! Such a good location, the staff were really friendly and the room was spacious. There is parking at The Lawns for £10.70 for 24 hours right next door. Very close to the castle, a short walk to the cathedral and lots to do nearby!"
