Science Park

Science Park
Learn about some amazing things, from the inner workings of your body to the vastness of space, at this interactive and fun science museum and park.

Science Park, opened in the Distrito Ronda area of Granada in 1995, is one of the most visited museums in the Andalusia region. “Parque de las Ciencias,” as it is known locally, is a fascinating, interactive park and museum with a focus on scientific education for families.

The complex is made up of over 17 acres (7 hectares) of buildings and parklands, so it’s best to check the park’s map and list of themed areas and attractions when you first arrive. Also don’t forget to check what the temporary exhibits have to offer. With so much to do and see, picking your highlights and planning a route can help you make the most of your visit.

Make a booking for a show at the on-site planetarium to see something that is really out of this world.

Another big favorite is the Biodome. Move slowly and quietly as you make your way through this tropical paradise, which is home to over 250 plants and animals. Start with the fish and reptiles before saying hello to the lemurs and toucans. Knowledgable animal keepers are present to tell you more about the biology and habits of all these creatures.

If you want to know more about your own inner workings, head to the Journey into the Human Body section. It’s an interactive adventure that the kids will love. Weigh yourselves and learn how to determine how much water your bodies contain or find out how your brain works.

Take a break in one of the two cafés or have a picnic on the grass. Climb the 121 feet (37 meters) to the top of the observation tower for spectacular views of Granada and its surrounding mountains.

ThePerception, Eureka, Biosphere and Explore areas are popular as well, but there are many more exhibits that may interest you.

Science Park is open daily except on Monday and the public holidays of the January 1 and 6, May 1 and Christmas Day. Entry fees apply with an additional ticket required for the Planetarium. Science Park can be reached on foot, by public transportation or by car. Parking spots are available on site for a fee.
