"If you have ever wondered what staying in Mackinaw City in the early to mid 90s, look no further. This hotel will answer all these questions. The hotel itself seemed to be in need of a little sprucing up, but it was clean. The room itself was large and spacious. The staff was nice. The area was quiet, aside from a bit of noise from passing traffic. The bathroom was large and spacious, which I feel like is rare in hotel bathrooms. Lovers of the 90s will love the decor. From the carpet to the comforters, from the furniture to the colorful bathroom, it was definitely a room my grandmother would have loved and booked for us in 1993. The room itself was great, all joking aside. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but the room itself was awesome. If you need a place to stay during your vacation, this would be a decent place to stay. It is outside the main downtown area and is a charming place. It is away from all the traffic and noise of downtown, but easy access to head south to Cheboygan or other places nearby."

"This is a great option for visiting Mackinac Island if you're not staying there. Super easy to grab the shuttle (the front desk will arrange it) for a quick drop-off to take the ferry, which runs regularly. Staff was super nice! Pool area open 24 hours (unheard of) and free breakfast in their space overlooking the water."

"Staying at the Pine Cottage was a delight as we explored Mackinac Island for the first time. It’s off the main path which meant a quiet evening and a good night’s sleep. The innkeeper was very knowledgeable and provided great tips and info about the island. We would happily stay there again because we for sure will return to this magical place."
