This scenic green strip along the river is filled with kiosks and restaurants with spectacular views of The Bund, especially after dark.
The Pudong Riverside Promenade and Park is a 1.5-mile (2.5-kilometre) walk on the East bank of the Huangpu River in the Pudong district. The scenic byway is popular with tourists and locals alike who flock here to enjoy the entertainment, recreation activities, dining and views. Wander, cycle or rollerblade along wide walkways past manicured lawns and gardens on one side, and the busy Huangpu River on the other. The promenade and parklands are the perfect place to see locals at their most relaxed, as couples young and old, families and office workers enjoy the open air. The promenade is one of the best places to view some of the city’s modern architectural wonders, such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Centre and Jin Mao Tower. Towards the end of the day, find a bench or riverfront restaurant and wait for the sun to set. At around 7pm, just across the river, The Bund’s 1920s and ’30s buildings are spectacularly lit up and colourful beacons sweep the river. You won’t go hungry on the promenade there are plenty vendors, kiosks, cafés and restaurants to choose from. For a memorable evening, treat yourself to a meal at one of the many restaurants that offer stunning river and skyline views.The promenade stretches from Dongchang Road in the south to Taidong Road in the north. The closest metro station is Lujiazui, and public buses and ferries service the area. The promenade and park are open to the public from early in the morning until late in the evening.
