"Pretty average but nothing special about it. The decor is plain and on the poor side of the scale. Slightly expensive for what is on offer. I would not use it again."

"Beautiful room and en-suite in a lodge with four others, tucked away at the back of the garden. Very comfortable. Especially appreciated two armchairs, decent size fridge and small outside area with table and chairs. Evening meal in the pub was also excellent. Lovely beer garden and attentive hosts. We didn't have breakfast as making an early start but ordered a packed lunch which was very handy."

"Recently refurbished in an attractive rural style the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. No air conditioning but a remote controlled Dyson fan was provided. The staff without exception were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine but could have done with some fresh fruit on the buffet table. However, when asked we were brought some pineapple which was good. The tables in the bar/restaurant were nicely laid out for dinner with proper napkins! The food was was generally typically hearty...

"My second visit in 2 months based on my first, very positive experience. Again I booked the dinner, bed and breakfast package for a similar value to a bed and breakfast stay elsewhere. I was given a room on the ground floor close to the dining area and rear entrance which suited me fine. Parking was easy and dinner was tremendous. I went for the same walk to Chawton. A great night's sleep was followed by a great breakfast and I left again very fulfilled with my accommodation experience."

"We had a lovely stay. Andrew was a great host and showed us everything we needed. The bar was humming and our dinner was fabulous. We had a great nights sleep. The renovated bathroom was excellent and had a nice big shower. Room 2 was lovely overall. Breakfast in the morning was excellent.. Overall we had a lovely overnight stay at the Cricketers Inn and would not hesitate to stay here again when in the area. "
