The Alameda Motel San Jose

"The room was clean. Everyone was very helpful. If I was to stay there again I would make sure I am not given Room #1. It is right next to the office. Apparently the manager/owner lives at the property (or at least someone is in the room that is adjacent to Rm 1). They stayed up very late. I could hear their TV playing until 1AM. Not very restful. You could also hear a person clearing his throat and spitting. I found the staff at the front desk were Indian, and sorry to say I couldn't undersand them very well. They appeared to be the owners but not sure. The cleaning staff was very helpful and I understood them (not Indian). I can't speak for the other rooms. It was located exactly where I needed to be but there are also other motels/hotels just across the street or down a block. Silly to mention but I couldn't figure out how to work their TV. It was on Dish and I have no experience with that. I couldn't turn it off or make the volume work. But I let it play on and eventually it went quiet after a time. Slept with it on, but no sound. I also had a hard time with making the keycard work. Nothing fancy but it worked for my needs."

"The property is aesthetically pleasing, updated rooms. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately a bath towel was still soiled; didn’t notice until I opened it. Front desk associate quickly informed housekeeping who had replaced the entire towel set. Busy street with occasional engine noise from speeding vehicles. Shower was slippery, there were no grab bars. The small rubber mat was not sufficient. Friendly staff."

"What stood out most was the excellent customer service and the attention to detail throughout the property. It's clear that the team takes pride in providing a great experience for guests. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would happily recommend this place to my family, friends, and anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you to the entire staff for making my visit such a pleasant one!"

"This place is in a great location. There are so many great bars and restaurants within a ten minute walk. The staff was very helpful with any issue we had. Since it is an older hotel, the elevator is slow. Our room was facing the street and there were no sound issues for us. The bathroom is large. We would stay here ona future trip to San Jose."
