"Realy nice guest house, in which I had a lovely big room with a harbour view. Parking was convenient and easy. Breakfast was fine for me, if a bit basic - no hot options (which aren't my thing but many people like). The Hotels.com listing suggests there is a bar - I think there is benind a shutter but I saw no sign of it being open at any point. (It might have been opened if I'd asked perhaps - but it wasn't a big deal for me anyway.) But overall, a very pleasant and good-value stay, right on the Bangor waterfront."

"Had a fantastic stay at La Mon Hotel. The only negative was the lack of clarity on breakfast times. The time we were told for breakfast differed from the time we were told on booking in. We were lucky to get breakfast as we were just in time, but we saw others being turned away. Otherwise staff were fantastic, service excellent, clean and comfortable!"

"The rooms were great, and the food is great. The check-out procedure is a little unclear. We basically had to wait for someone to show up at 8 am so that we could leave. If we had needed to be out earlier, I am not sure what we would have done..."

Once the seat of the Marquesses of Londonderry, the Vane-Tempest-Stewart dynasty, who bought the estate in 1744, this National Trust-owned property is a must-see for anyone interested in history or horticulture or who likes nothing better than to spend time appreciating beautiful and calm surroundings.
