"staff was very helpful the room was very nice and clean the only issue we had was the walls was very thin and personal next door knocked wall even though we was talking quiet but apart from that it was a nice hotel"

"This was a great hotel for many reasons. The staff was very friendly including Omar at breakfast, the trainee receptionist gentleman and receptionist lady and David at the bar. The gym is the best I’ve seen - very extensive over two floor with a very wide range of equipment. It also has an amazing pool and spa. Only the breakfast quality was average but decent for the price. Room was great but better sound proofing needed. Very good location - heart of the city. Overall, it was excellent - would love to stay there again. It’s worth the price."

"We arrived early from overseas flight. Manager front desk told us we were too early, no rooms available. I asked did she want to check, she said no need, she knew. Said she would store our bags. That’s it. I asked for a map, she gave a booklet, said turn left, turn left, turn right. Much better reception at The Parkgate. Warm welcome, invited us to rest our feet, directions of things to do, 100% stay at The Parkgate. Avoid Hilton Cardiff."

"Fabulous one night stay at the Parkgate. The hotel is immaculate and our room which was upgraded was equally as fabulous. Location is amazing, close to everything Cardiff has to offer and whilst we were visiting from Cardiff, I’d recommend this to anyone travelling to the city! Spa facilities were incredible, small but well appointed and very relaxing with wonderful views out over the city and beyond. Best thing though were the staff. From the front desk, to restaurant staff, to the cleaners who quickly came when I accidentally smashed a glass in the room. Everyone went above and beyond to make your stay special and welcoming."

"Check-in was quick and efficient, and the staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Although the restaurant was not particularly busy, our food arrived only lukewarm and our drinks were initially forgotten. The meals tasted more like pre-prepared frozen food than freshly cooked dishes. As a result, we chose not to dine in the restaurant again during the evenings. I did not have breakfast myself, but my partner said it was good value for the price. Our room was spacious, very clean, and well maintained. Towels were changed daily when left on the floor. However, the shower gel appeared quite watered down. One drawback was the lack of a quiet area to work or take private phone calls. I was directed to a space behind the lifts, but it was still too noisy for a confidential conversation. The hotel advertises limited parking, but there were always plenty of spaces available whenever I returned. Overall, this hotel is a good choice for a short leisure stay in the area, but it is less suited to business travelers who need quiet spaces for meetings or calls."
