"The location was everything! A few minutes walk to Mirror Lake, shops, bars, restaurants, ice cream, and trails around the lake. Since parking costs a premium within Lake Placid, this was a major perk. Second, staff was a text away and showed up at our room to walk us to the newly relocated firepit with Adirondack chairs under the starry sky. Would 100% stay here again. Directly next door to Fratelli's pizza and what a great value compared to pricy spots in Lake Placid."

"Ok, so it’s Lake Placid, aka Fairyland. And in this beautiful town lies a historic hotel that’s trying to get back to the glory days. Threatened with demolition, the new owners picked up the ball so long ago dropped and are doing their best to return it to its former self. First, the service: they will go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant and trouble-free as possible. The manager actually offered me a ride to a destination about a half mile away. No one does that..except Keith. Second, the rooms: they are small, but very refined. The bed was exceptionally comfy-firm, the sheets were a dream, and the decor is Art Deco. Also, the TV and the HVAC performed as they should, which is not always the case. They offer a beautiful art deco commons complete with a coffee bar, a piano, fireplace and jazz. So fun to sit and take it all in. No place is perfect, so if there was one thing I would change is to offer real cream vs powdered creamer, but I’m sure that will come later. I highly recommend the St Moritz in an effort to encourage their endeavors to bring a little of the sultry, glamorous past to our overworked and detached world of the 21st century. And yes, it’s AFFORDABLE!!!"

"I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Cambria Lake Placid. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious (especially the bathroom and shower). Also, the room was outfitted nicely with a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had breakfast at the Haystack restaurant located on the property twice and each time found the service to be attentive and the food very good. The location of the hotel is great too, a bit removed from the busy main strip in Lake Placid. Highly recommend and will definitely stay at the Cambria for my next trip to the Adirondacks."

"This location was perfect for my wife and I. We have been to Lake Placid multiple times and this location was right in the middle of Main Street, where all the activity is. Our room overlooked main street, the room clean and had a full set of amenities. The only downside but was very minimal, that to reach our room was 21 steps, LOL. Great place and will be staying there again, on our next trip to Lake Placid."

"Our stay was very good, the only thing I would like to see, check in time at 3 pm and check out time at 11am as it is in normal check in and out time in hotel. after traveling 5 hours, that time matters. With the early check out your rushing to get out. Also, You need ice trays because the ice maker didn't work. When having a apartment type place, I feel we shouldn't have to buy ice. Everything else for cooking utensils you had was great . The shades were beautiful, yet they let to much light in at night. We loved the stay. The staff were professional and great, I would recommend this place to friends and other family members to stay there."
