Hell.. 3 nights booked, I left after 2 hours.
I had 3 nights booked here and didn't end up staying any of them, I'd rather of lost the money than slept here.. that should tell you how bad it is..
Looks nothing like the pictures, whilst it is a nice location, and the falls are beautiful.. the few hours I was there it was overrun with screaming local children.. the least peaceful place I've ever been.
The "hotel" is impossible to find, down some dirt track.. surrounded by locals shacks..
The room is basically a wooden shed, there is absolutely no shops around the area at all.. of you don't have a scooter, don't even consider this place.. not that you should anyway..
this place is beautiful, it feels like a collection of beautiful real Laos huts all nestled by a collection of waterfalls and pools, connected by gardens. It isn't a place if you're a princess about bugs and kids running around having fun. Our bamboo hut was comfortable but a bit messy. I think they didn't realise we were coming, as we had to poke around for 30 mins to find anyone, and were not sure if we were even in the right place as the signs are not great. So for some it might not be for you. but if you want a authentic beautiful stay, please come here. the waterfalls are gorgeous, great for swimming and jumping into. there are kids running around everywhere fishing and jumping over rocks and running around with buckets for crabs. you really get a feel of the home that this place is, and how it is part of the community. we had the best omlet I have ever had for breakfast, but couldn't stay a second night as my girlfriend hated it because of the bugs. I can't wait until I can return.
Det var lite mat å få på hotellet, og området rundt stengte tidlig. Fikk frokost på hotellet. Di hadde veldig dårlig språk kunnskap. Men nydelig plass å såve rett med fossen.

Don’t get your hopes up
Doesn’t look much like it does in the photos. Don’t know where they got the figure of 15 pools from! I counted two and neither had beds next to them as it shows in the photos. Be aware if you stay here the local area is completely shut down by 7pm, so it’s hard to get food as the hotel stops serving by then as well. Most staff are children between the ages of 4 and 7 and that includes those who clean the rooms, which probably explains the dirt on the sheets. Kids are everywhere and extremely loud, so if you’re expecting a nice lie in, forget it! Basically the one good things are the fact that it’s in a waterfall, close to the main waterfall, and the shower has hot water. Vastly over priced.

Ok
Location great
But no WiFi and no food after 5 pm and nowhere else to go.
Water looks great but is freezing cold 😉
This is the only hotel by the falls . Location is amazing, right by the river and small falls . It’s basic accommodation but it’s cheap and you are staying in the jungle , if you love nature you will love it . I bit chilly at night so go prepared
This was more primitive than I expected. It is good for a one night stay unless you want to get away from the world for a bit

Great location at the base of the falls in the local’s area away from all the tour buses. Beautiful views and great proximity to explore the main falls before and after the crowds from town. Very simple accommodations- more like camping, but they did have a western style toilet. No heat or AC but we came in December when the weather was a little cooler and didn’t have a problem. Be sure to bring bug spray, though. There’s a nice restaurant next door called carpe diem that’s great for lunch but only open at that time when it’s busiest with other tourists. At night, there’s really not much else to do, so expect a very quiet, relaxed evening. We ordered the fried rice and fried pork ribs from the hotel for dinner. Both tasted good, but my husband got sick from the ribs. I’d be careful what you order since it’s more remote, if your stomach isn’t used to that kind of food. Most of the staff speak limited English, but it was fine. I would try to arrange transportation in advance if you can or take a taxi from Luang Prabang instead of the airport. We took a taxi from the airport directly and paid about 3.5x the typical rate. Overall, a nice stay, a very local experience, but if I had it to do over, I might prefer to stay in town and take a half day trip out to the falls to maximize my time since we only had a couple of days total in Luang Prabang
Amazing location - natural pools right outside your doorstep and walking distance to the entrance to Kuang Si Falls. The big balcony is great for relaxing on and the bathroom decor is lovely (feels like you’re outside).
Other reviews said the room was dated/not clean but we didn’t find this to be the case at all. Food, however, was not amazing.
I was disappointed due to the conditions of the room. This should not be considered a “hotel” this is like a campground with the outhouse inside the facility. The ppl there are especially wonderful and very friendly except they barely speak English . The owner( I assumed) was really nice and he speak a little bit of English. This place is about a 5 mins walk to Kuang Si Waterfalls . It is beautiful here but come and enjoy the waterfalls and the surrounding but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
Eat your heart out, Martin Denny! Spending a night at Vanvisa was one of the highlights of our trip. Definitely worth splurging to get the extra-deluxe room with a terrace overlooking turquoise pools from the small waterfalls on the property. Very clean, nice big comfy bed, and the terrace is a great place to chill. It looks onto a popular swimming hole for local kids, and even though I'm totally not a kid person, it was charming to watch them splash around in the afternoon. At night, we went for a stroll in the village, and that was also a highlight--just exchanging simple greetings with the people who live there and enjoying a few hours in a world not built for tourists. An earlier TA reviewer whines that this is "basically just a village," which I find frankly infuriating. I felt lucky to get this small glimpse into rural Lao life. It's authentic, and authenticity is hard to come by these days. The homestay also faces a working monastery, and we awoke slowly to the sounds of drumming and chanting and the smell of incense. Yes, there were insects around (duh, it's a waterfall in the jungle), but none got into our room and it wasn't an issue. Getting up early to watch the sleepy bears at the sanctuary wake up--and to enjoy the magnificent falls and swimming holes before the tour buses made it out from LP--was the icing on the cake.
I have been to Luang Prabang and Kuangsi Falls previously but this was my first stay at Vanvisa. The location is great if you have seen enough of LP. You are literally right at the Falls but outside the tourist park. The hot water and shower pressure are great. I stayed in the bungalow. The dinner menu was reasonably priced and quality good. My advice is to email property after booking to arrange pickup (same price as I ended up paying by organizing tuk tuk 200,000kip). I got their car to airport- much better )it is a long way from LP and tuk Tuks don’t like driving up there in the afternoon as there are tourists returning the opposite direction. Emailing also makes sure they know you are coming! I stayed 3 nites and had walks and enjoyed being at the Falls when all tourists have gone. NO WIFI available in the hotel or village! Too far to go to LP for a visit. I will definitely be returning again.

Careness!
The took care of me. I was ill a couple of Day. The helped me in every way. Lovely people!
The place is amazingly good. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Please try their fried garlic pork, it’s soooooo tasty! The homemade papaya passion fruit jam is very yummy too!! I am so glad that I chose to stay at Vanvisa a night. Waking up in this place surrounded with natural waterfall is a bliss. Please do not hesitate to stay here.
Tolle Menschen, sehr freundlich, Zimmer gross, nur kaltes Wasser, sauber, tolle Lage (Natur ), Essen sehr gut! Natur pur, also viele Tiere, Pflanzen und ruhig.
