Only fault is the walls are not super sound proof. However, from a range of breakfast options which is cooked and continental, to the location of being directly in Kendal town center it truly is a magnificent place. "Beautiful place, with stunning views front and back. Room was fine, but the bathroom was a bit tired. Didn’t eat there but the food looked nice. Would be lovely to sit outside with a beer when the weather picks up a bit. Will stay again. "

Minor point was GF room window - I was not able to open without compromising security of room. If there was any plan on upgrades a small gym facility would make it a perfect destination for me!"

"Fantastic visit to this hotel. Room was lovely and clean, comfy bed, nice towels and even had toiletries. Nice decent sized tv and great variety of teas and coffees. We took our dog Barney and he was made very welcome, even getting a welcome pack. It contain 2 chews, a ball and a poop bag. There were even dog biscuits on the bar for a donation to charity. "Lovely hôtel - perfect for Lake Windermere. Facilities in the hotel are great: there are even wellingtons you can borrow to do a woodland walk. The restaurant is fantastic with high quality food. The lounge and reception area have wonderful open fires which make it feel really cosy. Our feature room was fantastic and roomy."

"Very good a-la-carte breakfast. Nice location, close to the old town and few minutes walk from the train station. Complementary, delicious cookies in the room. Charming hotel and bedrooms, one issue is that water was dropping in the bedroom from the ceiling, from time to time. I notified the reception so I hope they fixed the issue. "

"The positives - property was clean, kids liked it, street parking was convenient, price was reasonable. The negatives - some important shortcomings were - there was only one toilet roll for booking of a family of four for 3 nights, the extractor in kitchen was not working, coffee pods were useless because the water reservoir in the coffee machine was not working."
