"The hotel was really lovely, but could have been even better if the tables in library room were cleared to allow guests to use them. We put cups etc from our table onto one which had not been cleared and despite staff bringing food and drinks, they ignored the mess for over an hour until another guest asked for the table to be cleared. Staff should never walk past dirty tables."

"Room was immaculate and the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Unfortunately, we felt the quality of the food didn’t reflect the price. We paid around £100 for an evening meal which included two mains, a shared Camembert to start, and two drinks, but we didn’t feel the quality of the food justified the price tag. The meal itself was quite bland and lacked imagination. The sauce with the main was overly salty, and the bread was extremely dry, as though it had been left under a hot lamp for some time before being served. Breakfast was also disappointing. We again felt the food may have been cooked some time before serving. The mushrooms were dry and had very little taste, and both the meat and eggs had a slight fishy residue taste. Next time we would probably choose to have breakfast elsewhere. It’s a shame, because aside from the food, everything else about our stay was fantastic and the staff were lovely."

"The room was clean and the bed very comfy but the whole place needs a bit of TLC. The headboard was so worn out it really needs to be replaced. The breakfast was ok but lukewarm as was the coffee, was better on the 2nd morning but was missing hash browns. The staff were very nice and helpful and the pub got very busy in the evening with locals. Overall it just needs some money spent on it to make it more appealing. "

"We had such a lovely weekend at the Old Bell Hotel. The staff is so warm and friendly which definitely made our stay. The property itself is very uniquely decorated and had so much character and charm. The staff accommodated our every need and our room (we booked a junior master) was spacious, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! The breakfast was also delicious! "
