"There was no AC. being a listed building makes it hard to install AC. the room was so hot it was almost unbearable. One sash window could only open about 20cm at the bottom, as secondary double glazing had been installed it was not possible to open the top part. The other window only opened at the bottom but would not stay open so staff put a cushion there to keep it open. They gave us another fan which helped. Because of the heat in the room we could not close the curtains at night as that...

"I was able to check in online before I arrived at The Kicking Dickey. The staff were very helpful and friendly along with the pub which I thought was very welcoming. My room was at the rear of the property so away from any noise. The room itself was comfortable and well maintained, I think it might of been a converted stable. Nice functional bathroom with a shower and a very comfortable single bed. Lots of free parking outside the property. All in all well worth a stay."

Easy access to train station and travel in to London. Was a nice place to stay outside of all the business. Easy access to Stansted airport too. Would definitely stay again."

The carpet could do with changing and the shower sealant definitely needs re-doing as it was black in areas. Breakfast was plentiful, could have been warmer but nothing too drastic. "The room was suitable for our short stay, however with such lovely expanse of grounds it was therefore unfortunate that the view from our room was a 12foot high brick wall. Despite there being no air conditioning the room had a patio door which once open cooled the room. Upon request the hotel provided a fridge for my elderly mothers insulin, unfortunately the fridge was faulty and froze the insulin which caused a unplanned medical issue.
