Lovely place to stay for the night - hosts were extremely welcoming and responsive. Suite was very spacious, and had the most comfortable beds of our whole trip. And absolutely beautiful, pastoral setting!

Only about 25 minutes from Hobbiton, which made it a great place to crash after the evening banquet tour. We arrived rather late and it was quite dark. When we woke up in the morning and saw the view we were blown away. Gorgeous spot with comfy beds.

The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming - and we were even able to check in early. The place is in a nice quiet spot on a farm just a 15 minute drive from Hobbiton. Perfect location to stay if visiting there.

A beautiful, isolated, quiet location with lots of room. We stayed two nights and enjoyed them both. We didn’t do much cooking, but everything was there. Beds were comfortable. The place was clean. The hosts were very pleasant and diligent at making sure we were comfortable. There were three of us in Kauri lodge, but could handle a larger family easily.

This property is beautiful!! The home is fully furnished. It is accurate to the pictures and description, but it does not do proper justice. This property is an amazing place to get a break from the busy life. The hosts are very kind and make a very welcoming environment. The property is located next to numerous farms, so seeing animals daily is a bonus.

★★★★★ Amazing farm stay near Hobbiton We absolutely loved this lodge. The privacy was exceptional, and the property is located on a beautifully maintained farm with fresh, clean country air. Being so close to Hobbiton made the experience even more special. Waking up in the morning felt like stepping into Hobbiton itself, surrounded by peaceful farmland and stunning scenery. The farm-fresh milk, jam, and butter were outstanding—simple, authentic, and some of the best we’ve ever tasted. Every detail of the property was thoughtfully cared for, and it was clear that the hosts take great pride in creating a wonderful experience for their guests. This was one of the highlights of our New Zealand trip. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic countryside experience. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place with us.
