"My Wife and I had an excellent stay at the Catalonia Hotel Catedral in Barcelona. Right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, within walking distance of the Cathedral, La Rambla, great restaurants, shops, and major attractions. It made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and very well maintained. My room was comfortable and well designed, with view to the Kiss Mural and excellent housekeeping throughout my stay. The bed was especially comfortable,...

"Property is uniquely situated in a narrow alley within the Roman wall. What sets the Mercer apart is the exceptional staff who are eager to meet your every need. The furnishings and decor are upscale and very modern. Some of the lounge furniture is too low for older couples, and the flexibility of the shower floor posed some difficulties for me with my mobility issues, but the other amenities more than compensate for any minor irritations. Lovely place to stay. Happy to highly recommend"

"The hotel has a great location...overlooking the plaza and right in the middle of the old town. There are a few problems...1) If you have a room with balcony that overlooks the plaza, be prepared for crowd noise ALL night long...you might want to wear ear plugs to sleep. 2). There is no elevator and the hotel is on the fourth floor...fortunately our taxi cab driver went out of his way and carried our two 50 pound bags up the four fights."
